When I got home I went straight to my closet! I told Uncle D about the V-Day dance and he was all for it. He was trying to keep being dry but couldn't. But as I zipped to my closet I saw something on my bed. It was a huge red gift bag.
"From mom and daddy" With a heart. Dad's gifts had his name on them since he got them online and delivered to me. I pull out the candy, jewelry, and stuffed animals. Do not cry,Miller. I take a deep breath as I clean up the tissue paper.
Something falls to the floor. "To my Farrah." I open the note. "Dear Princess, I love you so much! I know things are hard right now! I know you probably don't have time or want to talk to your daddy at all. Just know that whatever choices you make in life your mother and I will always love you. Keep going, kiddo. I'm here and supporting you. Love, daddy."
I've cried a lot of tears. I am tired of hurting. I keep pushing my hurt on others and I know it isn't right. After giving myself a moment I get back up and grab Kim's gift off of my dresser. I pause after seeing it. A picture of us at the winterball in 6th grade.
We were both so chunky. It causes me to chuckle a bit seeing how hard we were smiling. The way we used to look at eachother. It was us against the world. We were eachother's world.
"I love you" is written on the back of the picture. I pick up my phone and text her "Thank you. I love you too.". Now, lets find a dress for this dance.
I grab different pairs of heels, coats, jackets, and dresses to try and put together.
After an hour, I FINALLY FOUND THE RIGHT OUTFIT!!!!! WHOOP,WHOOP! GO FARRAH! There's a knock at the door. "Yes?"
Uncle D walks in. "Well, look at you! You're wearing that to the dance?" "Yes." "Oh,okay. Here." He hands me a gift bag with a cute unicorn plush.
"You got me something,Uncle D?" I smile. "Yes,you know I was not going to do you like that. I had to make you sweat a little." We both laugh. I give him the biggest unexpected hug.
He wraps his arms around me and kisses my forehead. "I love you, uncle D." I say not realizing how corny he probably feels. "I love you too. Everything will be alright." I let go.
"Happy Valentines Day,Niece." He opens the door." "Thank you." He leaves and I feel like a weight has been lifted.
