You Suck

Chapter 12

    "Good morning!" He hands me a coffee. "Thank you. Good morning!" I'm surprised. The coffee tasted amazing by the way. "Rest Well?" "Yes, how about you?" "I did." People start to stare so I put a tiny space between us.
    "Did any of your tests get changed to today? I know Mr. Harvey moved our Chemistry test to today since Fall Festival is tommorrow." More people look as we walk past. "I don't have any tests today. I do after fall break and I am not excited." He chuckles. "It'll be just fine. You are an intelligent young woman."
    "Aw, thank you." "I have our tickets by the way. I will bring them tommorrow. Wan't to meet by the locker room since it's right by the entrance?" He's so excited. It's adorable. "I'll be there." "Great!" He looks at his phone. "Well,the bell is going to ring soon. I'll see you at lunch." "Okay!"
   I know you are like "Why in the world would she put a space between them?". I just don't want people to think we go together. I am single and he is too. That is it. The day goes by fast and soon as I know it, it is Friday morning.
   Uncle D drops me off by the locker room and Dante is right there waiting for me. "Hi,Farrah!" He hugs me. "Hey." "Ready to go in?" I look around him. "Yes."
   It looks so cute and well, festive. As always Dante smells amazing and looks so fine(like girl OMGGG). There's stuffed animals hanging from a wall at the bottle toss and bouncy houses that have slides and look like castles(Why would 14-18 year olds want to be in a bouncy house?).  "What do you want to do first?" I look around. "I don't know. You choose."
   He starts to look at all of the games and snack stands. "How about the hay ride?" "Let's go!" I couldn't even contain my excitement. I love hay rides! They are one of my favorite things to do in the fall(even though I haven't been on one since elementary school).
   "How many?" I look around us because obviously there are two of us, coach. "Two." He looks back to see how many seats are left. "Go ahead. You two behind them can come on too." He puts the chain back and I look back to see who is behind us out of curiousity.
    "Kim?" Her eyes buck and the boy beside her looks down at her. "Hey, Kim!" Dante smiles and waves. "Ya'll know eachother?" "I mean we have one class together but I do not neccessarily know him personally. Hey,Dante. How are you?" "I am quite well! How about you?" "I am well." She smiles.
    There is awkward silence between me and Kim. The guys are just happy to be here. "This your boyfriend Kim?" Both of their eyes buck and the guy starts blushing. "I could be but she is playing." "Oh-" I smirk and look at her. "What about you and Dante?" She asks. I can't even get mad because that was kind of petty of me. "Um..." Dante smiles and looks away. "Let's get candy apples after this. Ya'll want candy apples?" Everyone feels awkward but agrees to eat candy apples afterward.
    Dante does look a bit sad after I did that. I feel bad and I know he is wondering why I am acting kind of weird and dry.  We get off the ride and I pull Kim to the side. "You never told me about himm!" I grab her hands. "Calm down. It's not even like that." She shrugs.
    "Farrah,we're going to go ahead and order the apples!" "Okay!" "You totally like him!" "Farrah chill out!" She starts to laugh. "What's his name?"
     "You are so nosey." She smirks and looks away. "Rico." "RICCCCCOOOO!!! OO-" She covers my mouth because people start looking at us. "Girl, hush!" "Tell me more about Ricoooo!" She starts walking toward the candy apple stand. "We'll talk about it later!"
      "Ugh,fine! Wait up!" I jog a bit to catch up. It feels like we are in elementary school again. It's nice to talk about boys with her again. "Nice of ya'll to join us." He wraps his arm around Kim and she smiles so hard that her cheeks should hurt. I can't lie.. I kind of started hoping that Dante would wrap his arm around me too.
      I can't help but to feel a tad salty seeing Kim and Rico's chemistry. So much goofiness, flirting, and being care free. They finally go away and leave us alone. "You should let me win you something at the bottle toss." He smiles at me.
     A little bit of the saltiness melts away. "I would like that." "You know how the game goes. Get the rings around the bottle, choose a prize, ya da ya da." She continues stuffing chili cheese fries in her face.
      "Which one do you want?" I look closely. "The cheetah with the hearts all over it." "I got you." "When the buzzer goes off your time is up. Start..... Now!"
        He starts tossing the rings with ease. I don't know if I was motivation or what. It makes me feel special though. If he is fighting this hard to get me a stuffed animal who knows how hard he'll fight to make us dating work! The buzzer goes off and she doesn't even pay the bottles any attention.
       "Pick a toy." She places the fries on the bar. "The cheetah with hearts all over it,please." "Here you go." Joy takes over me and I hug him. "Thank you. I am having a good time."
       "I am glad. I was starting to get a tad worried about you earlier." This feels great. I like being held by him. I don't think we even realized we were holding on to eachother. That was until...
      There they were. Elijah and Candy kissing on the stair case. I am appalled. An explosion of jealously goes through my veins. He never kissed me like that. 
      To make things worse I notice the gold promise rings on their fingers. I guess they felt me watching because both looked up and saw me.  I don't know what came over me. I grab Dante's cheek and kiss him. His eyes widen and finally close.
     Elijah gets so mad that he walks away and LEAVES CANDY! "You kissed me!" "Yeah." "Farrah,you kissed me!" It finally hits me too. I kissed Dante Mcleod.
    I think about what just happened all day and night. What have I done?
