Linda
I walked through the park with my skates in my hand, why had Lauren blown me off? Now that I think about it, every time I've brought up ice skating she always changed the subject. I reached the ice rink and sat down on the one of the benches to put on my skates.
"Oh hey," I hear someone say. I turn my head and see Charlie sitting down on the bench a few feet away from me.
"Hi," I say. "What are you doing here?" I ask.
"Isn't it obvious?" He says motioning to his skates. "I take it you're here for the same purposes."
"Yup, except my friend bailed on me." I say.
"Well I'm here with my team so you can skate with us." He says.
I look over behind him and see the JV team all putting their skates on and talking, "Thanks, but I like to skate alone." I say standing up and walking towards the ice.
I start slowly skating and notice that the hockey team enters the ice when people start sprint skating past me. Charlie comes up next to me and tries to talk again, "You know, I think you'd be a good hockey player." He says.
"I don't think so, my hand eye coordination sucks." I say. "Besides Lauren has tried to get me to join swim team for the past year and a half."
"So you don't like sports? That's cool," He says. "So where is your friend Lauren, I don't see her anywhere."
"She apparently had something to do today, I think she just hates ice skating. I wish she would just tell me." I say.
"At least you've got me right?" He jokes and I roll my eyes.
He gets distracted by something his team is looking at in the park, I skate over slowly too and see them all shouting at some guy.
"Who is that?" I ask.
"Adam Banks, he used to be on our team, he plays Varsity now." A girl says.
"Ooh and he's got flowers? You got a date Adam?" A few guys tease.
"As a matter of a fact I do, and I'd appreciate it if you'd piss off!" Adam shouts.
"In your dreams! I wanna see who this girl is!" One of the guys shout.
There was a girl who was walking towards him but he jogged towards her and turned her into the opposite direction from the ice rink.
"Oh come on!" One of the guys shout.
We all go back to skating and I overhear someone mention Laurens name, "They were talking in an empty classroom," someone says.
"Who?" Charlie asks.
"Banks and that girl, Lauren? I think her name is." the guy says.
My heart drops, did Lauren ditch me, for some Varsity hockey guy? No, there had to be a mistake. She would also tell me, right?
Lauren
He turned me in the opposite direction, "What was that about?" I asked.
"There were just some guys I know at the ice rink." He says. "Didn't want them to torment you."
The ice rink? Oh shit, what if Linda saw me?
"Oh, understandable." I say. "So where are we going?" I ask.
"A small restaurant, but first, these are for you." He says handing me a small bouquet of flowers.
"They're beautiful, thank you." I say taking them. They were pink tulips, which were almost fully bloomed.
"Pretty flowers, for a pretty girl." He says.
I look at him, "I appreciate it, but don't ever say that again." I say laughing.
"Thank god, I felt weird saying it." He laughs.
We start walking down the street and eventually stop in front of a small restaurant, I knew it was nice because my family used to come here all the time.
He opens the door, "Ladies first," He says.
I walk inside and immediately get the feeling of nostalgia, we used to come here on birthdays and anniversaries.

The date, was incredible, we stayed and talked for hours. At the end of the date he walked me home and we parted ways, as soon as I got into my room I felt like one of those girls in a cheesy movie.
I needed to tell Linda, I called her but she dint pick up. I could always tell her tomorrow. I changed out of my clothes and into something more comfortable, my parents were out of town on business, again.
Just as I was about to start homework I heard the doorbell ring, I walked to the door and opened it.
"Hi, what's up?" I ask.
"Are you seeing Adam Banks behind my back?" Linda spits out.
"What? How did you-" I start. "Oh, you saw me at the park. Didn't you?"
"Yeah, I did, and the worst part is that I had to hear it from some hockey jocks and not you." She says walking inside.
I close the door, "Linda, I'm so sorry for not telling you. But I haven't even been seeing him, it was one date. I swear," I say.
"Did you kiss him?" She asks.
"No! I swear if I did I would have told you!" I say.
"So why didn't you just tell me about the date? I would've been fine with it and I could've helped you pick out something to wear! Please tell me you did not wear that!" She rambles.
"No! I just changed! Why are we still shouting?" I say.
"I don't know, I guess I'm just a little bummed you didn't tell me." She says crossing her arms.
She had the right to know everything, so I told her everything from the beginning.
