Chapter 5: Eyeball, Things in Common, and Crying

Meanwhile, Dirk, June, Hotspur and Cisco were riding in Big Mama while Oliver and Sara drove Colossus with Barry and Kara running/flying alongside them. In Big Mama, Cisco and Hotspur saw that June and Dirk had the same type of hat, so did they.

"I can't believe we never notice we have the same favorite hat." June said.

"Probably just a coincidence, like the jinxing." Dirk said focused on driving.

"Yeah, coincidence. There's no way you and I have anything real in common. We're nothing alike." June said as they pass two monster over by a trash can.

"Like, watch. Favorite food?" June said.

"Pizza." They both said.

"Too easy. Um— favorite animal?" June said.

"A hawk. 'Cause it sees everything." They both said again. They were getting annoyed that they had things in common. Cisco and Hotspur were just surprised to see this playing, well, Hotspur was annoyed too.

"Oh, great. Now there's two of them." Hotspur said. Meanwhile, the giant eyeball monster roared at Quint and Freddy. Both were panicking about this.

"Hey, you big hairy eyeball! Here's mud in your eye!" Jack shouted as he throws mud into its 'eye' as Flasheart sonic howled as it. It roared in pain. Jack and Flasheart jump over it to Quint and Freddy grabbing them.

"Run!" Jack yelled.

"No argument here!" Freddy said as they ran. Soon the eyeball monster followed them.

"Quint? Why is that eyeball covered in hair?" Jack asked as they ran to the gates. As they did, the eyeball roared and shoots its "hair spikes" at them. The four dodge them as they ran.

"I believe I know the answer to your question!" Quint said.

"Me too! Where's Rover?" Jack asked as back at the entrance, Rover was still sleeping. The eyeball continues to pursuit after them.

"We're sorry to bother you, Mr. Hairy Eyeball Monster!" Jack yelled to it.

"Apology apparently not accepted!" Quint said.

"You think?!" Flasheart said.

"Keep running!" Freddy said.

They take cover behind a tomb as the monster continued to shoot its spikes. Jack quickly peeks over it and sees that it ran out of spikes.

"Wait! Look!" Jack said. The eyeball was bare now, no spikes.

"He's out of quills!" Quint said.

"The bestiary! This is a chance to get some essence." Jack said as he walk to the monster.

Not so tough now, are ya, you big, bald cyclops?" Jack taunted the beast. It suddenly regrows it quills and snarls at them.

"I'm sorry." Jack said quickly.

"Duck and cover!" Quint said as they take cover. It fires its quills at them, while it did, two of the quills hit the bestiary. Jack takes one to use as a bookmark.

"Thanks." Jack said. He then rolls and grabs Quint pulling him away from the tomb That gets punctured by the quills as Flasheart pushed Freddy away from the quills. Quint and Freddy get pinned by one of the quills to a tomb.

"Ah, Quint, Freddy! What are you doing? Get up!" Jack said.

"I-I can't!" Quint said as he tries to get up, but the quill has him pinned, same with Freddy.

"Me either!" Freddy said. The monster eyeball then regrows it's quills about to attack again. Jack and Flasheart prepare to fight.

"Oh, man." Jack said.
