An author is sucked into the book he was writing and falls in love with the main character.
This most certainly isn't how Alex Meyers thought they would be spending their holiday. They thought that they would be spending their holiday cooped up in their room, agonizing over a blank piece of paper, not exploring the land that they made up with their fictional characters.
But they're getting ahead of themselves. Let them start from the beginning...
It was a cold, snowy night in the small Montana town where Alex resided when it happened, they were transported into the fantasy world from their novel! They barely had time to register it. One minute they were angrily typing at their computer trying to actually write something down, and the next they were laying on the floor of the Luminar forest, five faces staring down at them. Alex scrambled up, quickly backing away from the five creatures.
"What the fuck." They said, more a statement than an actual question. "Where am I? Who are you?"
"You are in Galdriem, my good lady!" exclaimed an elvish-looking creature with blue hair. This confused Alex greatly. Galdriem, as in the fictional city that they came up with when they were high as fuck. "I am Hamdring, and these are my fellow quest goers, Lilac, Talia, Messerin, and Hafelfell." The other creatures waved as their names were said.
"Wait, hold up. You're telling me that you're the Travelling Questies? As in the group of people from multiple races that I came up with when I was high out of my mind?" Alex asked, looking even more perplexed. "No, no, that can't be true. You guys don't exist. You guys aren't real. Oh my fucking god, what the fuck, oh no. Oh shit."
"Hey, hey, calm down take a deep breath. I don't know what's going on but I'm sure we can help you if you just tell me what's happened." The blue-haired person, who was supposedly Hamdring, the main person in their book, assured. Galdriem walked up to Alex, and gently placed her hand on their shoulder. "Come on, how about you come with us to our camp and explain what's going on? We can get you food, and water." Alex nodded their head and followed the other four members of the quest to where their camp was located.
That was four months ago, it was now December and Alex was fucked. Just absolutely and utterly fucked. They just had to fall in love with a fictional character from their story, didn't they? Hamdring was just so nice, and sweet, and pretty, and not to mention he looked like a gift from the gods, it was so hard not to.
It would be Christmas time back at home. They wondered how their family was doing. They thought about them a lot. Did their family miss them? Did they think about them everyday? Did they-?
Alex's thoughts were interrupted when a certain blue-haired someone sat next to them. "Hamdring." They said, gently, still facing away from the girl.
"Thinking about your family?" She asked, shuffling a bit closer to the person sitting next to her. Alex nodded stiffly, their breath catching at the close proximity that they were in with the girl sitting next to them.
"I love you. Fuck." Alex groaned, quickly standing up and walking a good distance away from Hamdring. Why, why the fuck did they say that? They heard footsteps approaching and sighed. Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck.
"Alex? Can you please turn to face me?" Hamdring asked. Alex did as she asked, being unable to say no to her. They kept their eyes down, suddenly finding their shoes very interesting. "Alex, I'm not mad."
"Wh- what? How? I just- I just said 'I love you'!" The person standing next to her exclaimed, finally looking up.
"So?"
"I probably just ruined our friendship!" They exclaimed, angrily.
"How can you ruin our friendship when I love you as well?" Alex looked at the girl in shock.
"Y-you love me?" They asked, not believing what they heard.
"Yes! You're so kind, and smart, and pretty, and- and you just, you make me feel alive! You make me feel things that no one else has ever made me feel! You make me think and do ungodly things in the wee hours of the night. You intoxicate everything about me!" Hamdring burst, saying everything that was on her mind.
"Why? No, you can't love me. I- I don't even belong here!" They exclaimed, shaking their head, trying to prove to themselves that this was just some sick joke.
"For fucks sake, Alex, just shut up and kiss me!" Hamdring groaned, getting annoyed.
"What?" Alex asked, dumbfounded.
"I said- oh fuck it." Before Alex could blink, Hamdring had sprung forward and pulled their bodies together, attaching their lips, in a passionate kiss. Alex squeaked in surprise, before letting their eyes slip shut and return the kiss. They wrapped their arms around the girls neck, and ran their hands gently through their hair, while she wound her arms around their back.
They pulled away, panting, needing air. Alex laughed, gently coaxing Hamdring into laughing as well. They gently leaned their foreheads together and gave each other a sweet peck on the lips.
"I love you," murmured Alex, unwinding their arms from Hamdrings neck, and clasping their hands with hers.
"I love you, too."
I-
Don't ask.
