Not What I Want, But What I Need

Chapter 2:Birthday Over Load

My eyes slowly fluttered open just as the door flung open. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIA" I rose from my covers and saw my friends standing below me with a tray of pancakes and a few colorful ballons.

I smiled but turned my attention to Amanda "What are you hiding behind your back" i pointed at her and after placing the tray down she tossed a little box at me. i went to catch it but my arms just flew though the air and the box hit me in the forhead. "Ow" i rubbed my forhead then picked up the little box. i opened it to reveal a silver necklace with a blue diamond rose with a green stem charm. A smile appeared on my face ear to ear before jumping down and giving my friends the biggest hug i could manage. There were a few "you're welcome" and "i can't breath" before i finally let go of them.

"wait there's more!" Jessica was saying as she jumped up and down while pointing at the little box still on my bed. I reached up onto my bed and grabbed the box sure enough there was a little folded paper at the bottom. i pulled it out and unfolded it. It was a reserved table at the new restaurant/club place Black Light. I knew they were going to take me out but i was still surprised they actually got a table.

"Wow you guys actually got a table that's amazing!" i smiled at them and they all seemed to let out a sigh of releif.

"I'm so glad you're happy! but you should eat and get ready because today were going shopping and finding you the perfect outfit for tonight" Selena pushed me to my pancakes and walked over to the door "we'll leave you to it love" she gave me her well known smile as her Jessica and Amanda walked out of the room. I looked at the clock and to my surprise it was only 9:00 am the girls would probably be back at 10:00 i had an hour to eat and to get dressed for the day.

I ate my pancakes that were kinda of cold now but still amazing Selena probably made them she's always been such an amazing cook. Once when we were in middle school we had home ec and she made the greatest double chocolate fudge cake and now i deem her my personal cheif. i walked over to my closet and pulled out a similar outfit as yesterdays jean shorts, a The Who T-shirt and my red converse. i looked to the bottom of my closet where all my shoes were and noticed all i had was converse except for one pair of heels that i got for my prom, those didn't make it through the night.

i heard a light tap on the door before it opened and Selena peaked her head in with her hand covering her eyes. "Are you decent?" i looked down at my outfit and nodded but then realized her eyes were closed.

"Yes i am" i walked over to the mirror as she walked in and went to her closet. i brushed out my hair and looked at myelf and then down onto my dresser/makeup station/jewelery holder or as i call it my DMJ. The box i recieved this morning was on it and so i opened it pulling out my new necklace. i put it on and admired the way it looked.

"You look amazing in that necklace i know blue and green are your favirote colors" i tried to correct her but, she just continued to talk as she went into the bathroom. "were leaving as soon as i get dressed so be prepared" she walked out of the batroom wearing a similar sundress as yesterday. "ok lets go were taking Amanda's car"

We met Amanda and Jessica in the hallway and we all walked down together they wanted to take me first to get my nails done than to get me dress and finally my hair and makeup. this was going to be a long day i was probably gonna be too tired to even go to Black Lights. We drive for awhile before we got to our first destination i actually didn't mind getting a good pedicure or manicure which ever the one on your finger nails is. all i got was a really pretty blue frenchtip thing i'm not sure Jessica picked it for me.

We went to the mall to shop for a dress. They had me try on so many dresses a lot of which were way too short for my style. In the store we were in all there was was tiny black dresses. i actually hated wearing black especially in the summer it made me feel like a dark storm cloud on a sunny day. They finally let me chose the store and i went in very excited and determined. I was looking around when i saw the perfect dress. it was light blue with a strap around the middle poofy but not too poofy at the bottom and amazing top half with tiny straps i ran up and looked at it closer it had lacing in the back it was perfect. I Picked it up and turned to show my friends. They looked at it then me than it again and gasped, i hope it's a good gasp. they all at once had a giant smile. Yes it was a good gasp. They all ran over and pushed me towards the dressing room.
