The next morning, my alarm sounds too soon. I've been up half the night studying for chemistry the next day... An exciting feeling starts in my stomach and explodes throughout my body, forcing me from my bed. I have a date with Ryan Nguyen
Once I showered, I stand in front of my closet, trying to figure out what I'm going to wear. A dress? shorts? perhaps a skirt?
I pull out a denim skirt and hold it up to the white T-shirt I am currently wearing. I can go super conservative. There's no way dad will even suspect I am seeing a boy if I wear this
"Frumpy lady," I say as I glance at myself in the mirror.
I try to imagine how dad will react to this outfit
"You look wonderful, daughter"
"Why thank you, father. Anything to hide the fact that I'm a girl,"
"That's right. No one must know you are female,"
"Well, in this denim, no one will know,"
I shake my head as I hang it back up. Nope. There's no way I could look like a bag lady on my first social engagement with Ryan.
I finally settle on the floral dress and slip it on, feeling a bit stupid that I spent so much of my tie debating my outfit. I'm not that kind of girl. What's going on with me?
After getting dressed, I grab my backpack and phone and head downstairs.

Dad is up making a huge plate of eggs. His eyes widen when he saw me
Crap. My clothes are going to tip him. I force myself to be calm even though my outfit is giving me away. If he finds out what's going on, this not-a-date will be over before it has even begun.
"Wow, Y/N. You look amazing,"
"It's not a big deal. I barely even look at what I put on,"
