A mission from hell
"I'm so glad you're okay."
Grayson had woken up a couple hours later. To fresh made food given to her by Grace, who told her to eat up because they had training to get to.Training was the last thing on her mind right now. As she sat up and ate, Cat had been by her side. Sleeping peacefully within the messy sheets.
The poor thing had clearly missed her, when she woke up he meowed like crazy and even licked her nose, which she's never scene him do before. It made her smile for a few seconds before she got sad again. The thought of Five had taken over her mind as she tried, really tried not to think about him. She was angry when she did. Angry and sad, and slightly thankful. It was strange the way she felt about what happened.
Her mind couldn't help but wonder. The feeling in her gut that told her to worry. That the reason he wasn't back was because something bad had happened. It had to be the reason, it was the only thing she could come up with. It's the only reason she aloud herself to come up with.
Because thinking that Five stayed on purpose didn't feel right. They had a pact. To go together. And sure, she was mad at Luther too, because he stopped her, but if Five were true to his word, he would've come back for her once he realized she wasn't with him. She just knew he would.
And that had given her the comfort she needed to get through this.
"Hey. You're awake. "
Just as Grayson was about to put another piece of bacon into her mouth, she tilted her eyes up towards her open door. Vanya stood. Her small frame hugged the edge of the door.
"Vanya. Hey. Where is everyone?" She asked.
"Getting ready for training." She answered, and Grayson rolled her eyes as she pushed her food to the side and stood up from her bed. She closed her eyes as a sudden wave of dizziness hit her.
"You okay?" Vanya asked, her brows knitted together in worry for her sister. The only one who seemed to take the time to acknowledge her.
"I'm fine." Grayson answered. She moved towards her dresser and got her training uniform.
"Are you sure you're good to train? I'm sure Dad-"
"I doubt he would." She said, standing still by the dresser. "I doubt he would let us take a break if one of us was physically dying." She spat, her voice filled with bitterness.
"I'm sorry." Vanya says, her eyes sad as she looks at her.
Grayson scoffed and shook her head. She turned to Vanya and said, "why are you sorry?"
