I sat tensely at the bar beside Kaisa, staring at the strangest drink I'd ever seen. It was similar in consistency to jell-o, and yes I do know what Jell-O shots are, thank you. That wasn't the weird part though, oh no. The weird part was that it was piss-yellow and glowed like something bubbling in a sewer plant. I wrinkled my nose and pushed it away, leaning on my fist, the loudness of the bar and tight proximity of the creatures around me were starting to fray my battered mind, and the longer I sat there the more desperately I needed to relieve myself. I bit my lip, trying not to die from embarrassment when I tapped Kaisa on the shoulder from where she hovered with Jinx. Fear twitched down my back when my captor turned to face me, her violet eyes glowing eerily bright. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Jinx trying to hide a smile, but I was too nervous to look at her, already stuttering over my words.
"I'm....sorry," I swallowed at the way she watched me, like she wanted an excuse to pounce on me in front of her blood thirsty friend. I hadn't seen her look at me like that before, with such fierce possessive hunger. It unnerved me. "I need to...use the bathroom." I choked out, my cheeks burning.
"Down the hall to the left." Jinx replied with a burp as she finished her drink, waving her hand towards a dimly lit hallway that already gave me the creeps.
The stool I sat on creaked when I slid off of it, and before I could even take a step, a hand was wrapping around my bicep. I flinched back from her and she released me. "I'll go with you."
Jinx laughed. "Oh come on Kaisa, my establishment is perfectly safe. Have a drink, relax."
She glanced at her friend, hesitating, and I almost laughed at the fact that she was truly torn. Her instincts urged her to follow and protect me, but her mind didn't feel the same. I saw the rage ignite in her eyes when she realized what that meant, that she couldn't control it, and I became the brunt of that rage the longer she looked back at me. I shook my head, finally looking away from her. "It's fine, I'll be right back. Even for a filthy human this task is pretty doable."
I blew past her with an angry huff, my stomach tightening as I weaved through the crowd, trying with everything in me to avoid bumping into any....creatures, that might pass by. I made it to the hallway entry with a relieved sigh, padding down the narrow space and to the left, nearly jumping out of my skin when I suddenly came nose-to-sternum with a mountain of Fae male, a very bare chested male, might I add. I slowly and fearfully followed the contoured muscles of his chest up to his square jaw and my heart stopped at the malicious sneer on his face. He inhaled deeply, his head cocking to the side. His eyes were slitted eerily like a cats, and a deep yellow, contrasting oddly well with his cerulean colored skin.
"Well well, what do we have here." His voice was rough, sliding against my skin like sandpaper.
I was so terrified by him that the only thing I could do was duck my head and pray. "I-I just need to get by, if you'll excuse me."
