Xander watched in a trance as she laughed, a sight he wanted to be locked in his mind and memory forever.

Xander had seen many beautiful girls in his life before, but Belle-Vie was on her own level of beauty.

"One hundred percent vegan," she giggled, "go on eat before it gets cold," she urged him when she noticed he had stopped eating and was instead watching her.

Xander dug in, but occasionally snuck glances at the girl in front of him who seemed to be enjoying her food just as much as he was.

"From now on, I'm gonna call you Alex," Belle said out of the blue, with her hand over her mouth as she chewed.

"If you call me that, I'll call you Belle," was his smart response, with narrowed eyes at her.

She had started again with her Alex and Xander thing.

"Literally everyone calls me that already," She snorted.

"Since everyone calls you that, I'll call you Belle-Vie," he nodded.

"How smart," she laughed teasingly at the man who gave her a blank look in return, "oh fine, have it," she poked out her tongue at him.

The two enjoyed their meal as they continued to chat and even went as far as ordering deserts, which Xander enjoyed as well.

"You're not coming up?" Belle asked, noticing that he made no moves to follow her inside.

"I'm stuffed, and I know for a fact, if I go up there tante will try an feed me again," Xander explained as he walked away from his car and over to where she was standing on the side of the road in front of the apartment building.

There was a moment of silence between the two as they both tried to think of ways to say goodnight to the other, their minds telling them anyway would be embarrassing and cringe.

Belle watched in confusion as he got a little too close than personal space would allow.

He slowly brought his right hand up to her face, she could feel and hear her heavy heartbeat thumping in her chest as his light eyes studied every inch of her, his face stopping mere inches away.

"Your hair...it might get in your eye," he said as he softly brushed away a strand of hair that was sitting on top of her right eyelid.

Belle's breath caught in her throat as his hand slid down her face then tucked a bunch of curls behind her ear, giving him a better view of her round face.

"I love your eyes," his voice was just below a whisper as he spoke, sending chills down her spine, "I like looking at you."

Was that the vegan chicken talking?

Belle didn't know what to say so she just stared back at him anticipating his next move.

He leaned forward, and ever so softly, placed a kiss on her forehead, "goodnight ma belle," he finally pulled away after what felt like an eternity for Belle.

"Goodnight...Alex," she said back before quickly speed walking into the building, opting to take the long staircase to calm her thumping heart.

Back in her room, after running past the family and rushing out greetings, she leaned back against her door and let out a deep breath.

What the frolicking frickity frick frack was that?

In all her twenty years of living, never has a man ever made her feel so many things all at once and that too in a single minute, beautiful sixty seconds, and she remembered every second of it.

She slowly brought her fingertips to her forehead tracing the spot that was still tingling with the feel of his lips.

What was that?
