Man, I really do dislike rich people.

Belle made up her mind as she fell back on her chair, rubbing her temples, hoping the headache would go away.

Day 2 and she was already sick and tired of that self-absorbed jerk who was in the office right across from where her desk was stationed.

"Your job is simple, just bring me coffee when I ask, notify me of people who are waiting to see me and I'll tell you if you can or can't let them through. Forward any emails or invoices to me after checking them first and send them to me with a short summary-you can read English right? And know how to use a computer? I hope you can, receive, answer and connect calls to me when you need to-and my lunch arrives every 12pm- never let the delivery boy in my office, he drops it to you and you bring it to me-and one more thing, be a good girl, do your job and stay out of my way? okay princess?...you're only getting this job because your step-mom is a close family friend and I love her dearly, and I'm always prepared to do anything for her, so don't try and step out of line because trust me, I won't hesitate to put you right back...even send you back to whatever village you came from if I have to," Xander had said to Belle-Vie after they stepped out of the elevator on the first day.

She had to fight herself from firing back at his last comment, but she calmed down not wanting to be the "Angry black girl" stereotype. Instead, she pictured herself turning into a giant bee and chewing Xander's cocky big head off.

Belle made up her mind about passionately disliking her rude, over-privileged, ungrateful scumbag of a boss.

Not even a simple 'Thank you' left his mouth when she first brought him his coffee after her having a fight with the coffee machine and embarrassing herself as she did not know how to use the damn thing yet.

Apart from that, Belle was drowning in other sorrows like missing her family back home and how carefree she was back there, and the guilt of the lies she had to continue telling her family was starting to eat up at her.

She would also feel her mood dampen even more every time she'd see a couple of employees passing by her desk with floor plans or blueprints of a building they were working on or another group talking business with some clients, giving her a front-row ticket at what she was missing. Her biggest dream was at arm's reach yet she couldn't touch it.

She sighed loudly as another group of employees exited Xander's office with a model of a new science tech building that was to be built soon. She spun around in her chair with nothing to do, just waiting for her boss to call her if he needed something.

That was her whole job after all.

Just then her stationed telephone beeped and she rolled her eyes before answering, already knowing who it was.

"Sir?" she answered as she put the silver-grey office telephone to her ear.

"Bring me some coffee...And please not too much sugar this time."

Beep.

Sighing deeply, the young girl angrily got up from her desk and went over to the coffee machine.

"Merde! (Shît!)," Xander cursed as the black coffee 'accidentally' spilled on his right thigh making him hiss from the slight burning "Belle-Vie!"

"Oh I'm so sorry sir-uh my hand uh slipped...should I go make you another one?" The young girl blinked feigning innocence.

Xander scowled at her, "I think I've had enough coffee."

Hiding her smile, Belle turned and was about to walk out of the fairly large office but stopped when he called out to her once again.

"I did not dismiss you."

Clenching her jaw, she turned back around and went to stand by his side again, with her hands intertwined in front of her.

Xander leaned back in his seat, slightly pushing his body away from his desk and exposing his wet leg.

"You're gonna have to wipe it."

"Uh e-excuse me, sir?" Belle blinked, hoping he wasn't asking her to do what she thought he was.

"Take a tissue and wipe this off," he said pointing down at his coffee-stained leg.

"I-I don't think that's appropriate s-sir," Belle said looking straight ahead, she scolded herself in her head as her little act backfired in the worst way possible.

"Belle," he began, "I am the one to say what is and what isn't appropriate, and right now it's only appropriate and fair you clean up after your mess."

Belle-Vie opened and closed her mouth not knowing how to get out of the situation she put herself in.

Meanwhile, Xander was finding all of this amusing, he bit down on his bottom lip trying to hide his smirk as he looked up at the troubled girl.

He loved having control and he loved how nervous he made her, and the fact that she was foreign to the country and so naive and oblivious made toying with her even the more fun.

He tilted his head to the side as he studied the chocolate beauty in front of him.

Too bad you're not really someone I'd go for, he thought to himself, but a little fun never hurt anybody.

When Belle made no move to do what he had asked, he leaned forward in his seat and grabbed the tissue box on his desk then held it up to her.

"Come on, it's only getting wetter," he said and watched in amusement as her face morphed into pure horror.

"I...y-you have hands...do i-it yourself," and with that, she quickly walked out of his office not once looking back.

Xander threw his head back and laughed out loud when the door shut behind her.

Ah, that'll never get old.

Shaking his head, he called his home telephone line and asked one of the maids to have a pair of trousers sent to his office.

A few hours later Belle-Vie walked into her dad's luxurious apartment but then almost walked right back out.

There on the living room sofa, Marie and Zane were attacking Leon with tickles, all of them laughing happily.

Belle growled under her breath as she tried to walk past them without catching their attention.

"Oh, Belle you're back!" Marie was the first to notice her.

Belle sighed heavily wishing for a gigantic eagle to pop out of nowhere and take her and her son away.

"ma sœur! (My sister!)" Leon ran towards Belle and hugged her legs not knowing that the girl was fighting the urge to kick him out the window, "Maman and I bwought some sweets today! Ond I kept fow you some!"

The little boy dug in his denim jacket pocket and pulled out a handful of candies and held it out to Belle who again fought the urge to kick them out of his hand.

She pulled her fakest smile and took the candies from the boy who beamed happily, excited to have an older sister to share his candies and toys with...sadly for him, the feeling wasn't mutual.
