Belle fell back on her new king-sized bed which had a fluffy pink duvet and was decorated with too many pillows in various colours.

Psht, even their dang ceilings look fancy.

She couldn't help but appreciate the fact that Marie tried her hardest to make her room cozy and comfortable.

The room had a modern chandelier that dangled over the bed, the floor was covered in a plush pale pink carpet, simple white gauze curtains shielded the sun's rays from entering the room through the large windows that gave a perfect view of the city and the Eiffel Tower. There was a little desk with a brand new laptop just for her and a bookshelf filled with different types of books. In addition, she had a walk-in closet and her own en-suite bathroom.

She rolled over on her tummy and stared blankly at her new iPhone 13 pro max that Marie so kindly gifted her.

It was already her second day and she had locked herself in her new room and only left once in the morning to have breakfast and then quickly ran back to her new room, not being in the mood to be around the happy family.

She had spoken with her family back home over the phone the whole night, feeding them false information about her current situation.

She switched on the phone and scrolled through it again, and sighed once more when she realized she was not qualified enough for any of the jobs they were offering on the sites.

A small knock was heard on her door before it creaked open, the person not even waiting for her response.

"Chérie (sweety)," Marie poked her head in the room, "may I come in?"

Belle-Vie nodded not really caring anymore.

Marie stepped in and sat on the corner of her bed, "so I know you've been job hunting."

Belle was about to ask how but decided against it as she planned to say as less words to these people as she possibly could, she planned on earning enough money and paying for her own little place soon.

"So...I know you studied architect in college," Marie began.

Belle-Vie did study architect, but for a year only as the fees were too expensive to continue, but she loved and knew it very well as she did learn it through her high school years, she also took free online lessons and educated herself as much as she could.

"I have a friend whose son handles their family business in architecture," Belle perked up at this and looked over at Marie waiting for her to continue.

"Such a sweet family and a lovely family legacy," Marie smiled, Belle-Vie fought the urge to roll her eyes.

If she's always gonna be this nice and sweet about everything, I'm gonna throw myself out one of these way too large Windows
