Butter

From the first day I saw her outside her window, Red captivated my eyes and ruined my vision for other girls. No one looks prettier than her. No other girl makes me excited. She's like a magnet pulling the steel towards her. I am steel. Now, she owns my heart and I have to tell her because I want to possess hers too. I know she feels the same if the basis is the kiss we shared a while ago. Damn! Those red lips are sweeter than the fruit tarts. Our lips joined, so our hearts too. The feeling is there. How deep it is, that is something I am not sure of.

"I know you're thinking about Red." Chippy turns his head towards me. "Don't doubt how she feels for you. You know, everyone knows, it's there. When you're an elf, especially for emotions, you can't hide anything."

I face him. I don't think I understand his statement. "You are both the elves of love. Whenever your emotions involve love, jealousy and pain, your aura shows them." Still I'm not getting it. "Meaning it's obvious from your face and actions. You can't hide it even if you fight it." Now I know.

"You're saying that she knows I love her and I am right that she loves me too?" Please say yes, Chippy.

"Absolutely." That's even better than yes. "Say the three words and you will know I am right."

"Butter, Red," Applesauce makes me straighten up my back like a soldier. "Come over here."

I walk towards her while Red stands up from the sofa where she and Truffles are sitting and talking. We stop and stand on the side of the grand piano where we can see the sound board, strings and tuning pins. Dazzle is drawing some notes on the music sheet and don't bother to glance at us.

"So the lyrics to the song for igniting love are finished and Dazzle is currently doing the melody and later we'll record the music." She flips the new page of her pad and peers over her glasses. "Now for killing the flame of love, these are the words you've mentioned for the past two days."

Red and I take a deep breath and I hold her hand. This is more difficult for me because I am the boy with love.

"For Butter, you only gave...Fake love, life goes on." She pauses to read her notes silently. "Red had almost completed a whole stanza...We were happy, we're the end game, no. Everything has changed. I want you back. I tried. I'll run off. I have no lover, but I'm okay."

After she reads our previous inputs, words flood my brain that I don't need to write then. "Just one day, an epiphany hit me. Danger is I need you. Please don't leave me. For you I shed tears, my heart is ripped. Gotta make it right."

"Brilliant!" Applesauce exclaims after she finished writing what I say. How she could write while I am talking is amazing. "How about you Red?"

Red is still writing. "Hmm..." She pauses and closes her eyes. And like a lunatic, I stare at her. Seeing her blue eyes captivates me. Without them, my hands are itching to touch and kiss her. "We are never getting back together. Never in my wildest dream would I wish for a new lover." She utters the words without opening her eyes. I don't want to hear those words aimed at me except for being the new lover.

"Hmm. I think I can add more." Applesauce is writing while talking to us giving us an impression that if we interrupt she'll lose the momentum.

Dazzle silences us by playing the piano. Her fingers jump from one key to another and the melody makes me close my eyes. It's so pleasant, heart warming and pierces right through the soul. When she stops, I open my eyes to see that she's holding an iPad and her hands are busy tapping the screen. She's humming the melody she played earlier while different instruments are mixed together such as drums, guitar, violin, saxophone, cello, harp until she sticks with drums and guitar. The final output is pop music.
