Hey yall! Before I start, I just wanted to thank you guys for over 1k views! I didn't think I'd get half the amount I did, and I couldn't be happier about it! Enjoy!

Jude's Perspective: My protective instinct washed over and I was jumping in front of Connor. The bullet was about two inches away from hitting me in the head. I look behind me to see if Connor is okay, and I've never seen him more flustered.

"You little bitch." Says Connor's dad, Adam, slurring his words so we can tell he's drunk, "I had to go to jail because of you." The gun was pointing at Connor now, who had moved next to me.

Adam's eyes were red with fury and he looked just about ready to pull the trigger. I know it's dumb, but there's nothing else I could do. Right when the gun fires, I jump in front of Connor. Pain surges through my body. The last thing I see before I black out is two police officers handcuffing an obviously pleased Adam.

Connor's Perspective: "JUDE!" I scream, and I run over to his limp body. "Call 9-1-1!" I shout while stroking Jude's face. Tears are streaming down my face. I finally take a look at the bullet wound. The bullet hit him on the right of his stomach. There's blood everywhere. All I can do is hold the love of my life as he suffers this pain. I put his head on my lap and lean down to kiss him gently on the forehead.

The paramedics come quickly and put Jude on a gurney. I follow the paramedics into ambulance, but somebody stops me.
"Hey kid," hisses a fireman, "you ain't allowed in there." He motions to the ambulance. "Spouses and family only."

"That's my boyfriend!" I say sternly, no longer afraid of who hears me. "Let me on." I say in an unfamiliar tone. The fireman looks me up and down with a sneer and nods his head, allowing me to go past him and onto the ambulance.

I scurry in and sit on a bench right next to Jude's head. I take Jude's cold hand in mine and hold him tightly. He's attached to and oxygen mask, and the paramedics are rushing around on the moving vehicle and attaching more medical devices to Jude.

"Is he okay?" I ask the obvious question frantically.
"The bullet just missed any organs, so we think he's going to pull through. They'll do more thorough examinations once we arrive at the hospital.

I let out a deep sigh and release tension. I look at Jude's eyes, wanting him to open them, but he just lays still. Breathing softly. Suddenly, I feel a squeeze on my hand, and my heart begins to race. Jude was still conscious enough to continue loving me, even after what my father had just done to him.
