A/N: Welcome, all, to my first fanfic! Bear in mind that it won't get consistent updates, and I'm going to give as many elements of KOTOR II abilities to the main character, Cyrus, as possible. Be sure to leave a vote and comment! If I get something wrong, or need to improve somewhere, let me know! I'm gonna try to not leave many A/Ns, also. Thanks to whoever reads this story, and have a great time reading! -Author
~~~Let the journey begin!~~~
"Ding!" was the first coherent noise I heard, and I groaned, sitting up, looking at a black box with indigo outlines.
You have slept in your bed, and your HP and FP have been restored to 100%!
I groaned, knowing this was probably some cruel trick, some dream, as I read the floating box. I reach out and touch it, and it causes ripples, and I reach through it. I wave around it, testing its physics. "Shit." I mutter, as it disappears. "Ding!" "Oh, not again." I grumble.
For testing the game's physics, you gained +1 Int!
"Okay, fine. Y'know what? This isn't the weirdest I've seen. I can accept this-" I groan as another "Ding!" rings out in my ears. "I really need to find a way to muffle that..." I mutter, reading the floating box.
For thinking logically and accepting the inevitable truth, you gained +1 Wis!
"Fine, Mr. Wise Guy." I grumble, swiping it away, thinking of what to do next. "Status." I decide to call on, the box now appearing in front of me again.
Cyrus is ????, the only currently known one in this galaxy. He has ADHD, making it hard to pay attention or sit still, unless in a serious situation. He's been searching for a purpose in life since the start of high school, and wants to prove himself to someone.My mind immediately started racing. Those are ridiculously high stats for a level one, and that there must be a system for it. I groan, realizing what's probably about to come next. "Ding!" I look at the screen in bewilderment, then swift recognition of the formatting.
Journal Entry Added!
I grin in recognition of the phrase, and say "Journal!" A menu opens up, with one highlighted entry/quest.
Journal Entry: The Start of an Era?
You've finally woken up to discover that you've developed abilities you've only read about! You start to question your limits, but before you get too far, you realize you need to figure out how it all works by yourself, and what you are by yourself.I frown at the entry, a little disturbed by the title, but know I have to do it anyway. As luck had it, I already knew the formatting and style, and I realized why my stats were so high. In Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, each character started with 8 points in each stat, putting them at a score of -1 to their capabilities. Still capable of dealing damage and doing things, but it made everything a considerable amount more difficult with -1 in a stat, starting with 30 points for character customization. "Ding!" I smirk as I read the screen.
For your logical thinking and arriving at a sound conclusion, you gained +1 Int and +1 Wis!
"Okay, so now I have a neutral score in Intelligence and Wisdom. Good to know." I mutter. Then I started to wonder, what was FP? Games usually have a mana/magic system, and I currently seem to be lacking that, unless... "Oh. That makes sense, I guess. Force Sensitive, hm?" "Ding!" I hear.
Journal Entry Added!
For figuring out what you are and recognizing and knowing how to maneuver the system correctly, you gained +300 XP, +1 Wis, +100 FP cap, and a ????!I swipe away the screens, muttering the word "Status." This time, by my name, I spot a bright yellow L. I click on it, and I grin, seeing an all too familiar format. I click Attributes, ready to sort the points as necessary. Here are my stats after I finished with them, already planning ahead for my class and my Jedi class.
Str: 12
Con: 12
Dex: 14
Int: 14
Wis: 16
Cha: 14I go to Class Selection, and pick the easy choice of Scoundrel and Jedi Consular. I grin and press Skills. What I saw didn't disappoint me. An open, blank space, with plenty of points to pour in and go around. With that, I carefully calculated which skills would be best suited for me, resulting in this layout:
Computer Use: 2
Demolitions: 0
Stealth: 4
Awareness: 4
Persuade: 4
Repair: 2
Security: 0
Treat Injury: 2I smile, and close the menu, mostly satisfied, only left wondering how to develop Force Powers. "Status!" I call softly.
Cyrus is Force Sensitive, the only currently known one in this galaxy. He has ADHD, making it hard to pay attention or sit still, unless in a serious situation. He's been searching for a purpose in life since the start of high school, and wants to prove himself to someone.I grin slightly, a look of horror flitting across my face. "Nobody can know. The government could experiment on me. I need to learn how to use the Force subtly." I mutter in shock of the realization. Thoughts start racing through my head as I consider my options. I could just do nothing with these newfound abilities, I could learn how to use them in a subtle manner, if possible, or I could go full on rogue and try to overthrow. "Ding!"
Journal Entry Added!
"Journal." I call hesitantly.
Journal Entry: Savior, Observer, Conqueror?
As you start to further develop your abilities, you start to wonder which path you will take, and you feel a sense of foreboding, knowing your choice changes it all. What legacy will you give yourself? That of a Hero, a Villain, or neither, letting your name fade with time?I groan loudly, clearly hating this more by the second.
