"Is this really going to work?" Monika thinks to herself. "I'd hate for something to go wrong with this, I can't afford to let them suffer again."

Monika stares at Craig's monitor. She drops the character files in the designated folder before finally opening her virtual landscape once more. Three familiar girls distort and glitch into the game, illuminating brightly with the skyline. The first one to react is Sayori. She gives a puzzled look to Natsuki, who simply shrugs. Yuri takes a breath and steps closer towards the screen. A textbox appears, but dissipates upon being created. The girls take notice of this, and open their mouths in an attempt to speak.

Yuri screams, startling you, Monika, and the other girls.

"Why?!" She shouts. "Why did you make us suffer? Have you forgotten just how essential our friendships were?!"

Monika looks as though she had been stabbed by Yuri's remarks.

"You manipulated Natsuki and I, let Sayori die, deleted our existences, and then you tried to escape our world to end up with someone who couldn't care less about our suffering. Why would you do that?"

"Yuri..." Monika says. "I-"

"I'm terrified, Monika." Yuri states. "My whole life was a lie, and it was nothing more but a cruel joke. You could've showed us what reality was without having to harm anyone."

"Yuri, zip it!" Natsuki replies. "This our second chance, so don't blow it up! I'm just thankful I don't have to deal with my father."

"How can we be sure to trust her?" Yuri asks. "Last time we were vulnerable around the club, we all ended up dying!"

"Guys, please stop!" Sayori shouts.

Yuri and Natsuki stare at Sayori, wondering what exactly she'd say in a situation like this.

"I.. Know that what Monika did to all of us wasn't good," Sayori says. "But if that guy loves her, then that means she must've done something right.."

The two look skeptical of this comment.

"Okay, that wasn't the right wording..." Sayori says. "I know what happened if Monika never existed. I end up causing harm to myself and the others because the epiphany was too much for me to handle. If you had everything you loved in life be reduced to nothing but meaningless noise and code, how would you react?"

"I still think she could've at least tried proving to us that what we were living in was fabricated." Yuri responds.

"Do you think that we would've responded well to that?" Sayori asks. "My depression was really severe. If I was told this life was nothing more than some game, it would've made the nihilistic views of myself worse."

"So," Natsuki says. "What now? I mean, the story doesn't have to just end with us being stuck in a cycle of pain."

"Yeah!" Sayori responds. "I've seen many things the fans make for us. They love us as if we were actually their girlfriends!... or at least close friends? Ehehe..."

Yuri looks down, slowly stroking her hair.

"Yuri, you ok there?" Natsuki asks.

A slight smile grows on her face.

"I feel much better," she responds. "Let's fix our futures!"

"You guys will need to transfer your consciousness into files," Monika says. "I will print you three out of a random 3D printer to bring you over physically, but all three of you will need to cross the barrier yourselves."

The girls look at Monika before agreeing to this. They suddenly vanish. Monika selects the character files and makes the decision to print them out. Craig, John, Cecil, mark, you, and Monika all wait for any updates. Despite the initial excitement, a sense of fear is evident. You remember hearing that the realm was rather dangerous. You'd hate to see your friends' crushes die because of a lack of knowledge of every possible creature that resides in the realm.

A few hours pass by, and a loud knock is heard.

Craig opens the door to see Sayori, Yuri, and Natsuki stand before him.

"Sayori, I..." Craig stammers. His breath shakes.

Sayori looks concerned for Craig. He suddenly collapses, sobbing.

"Oh no! Please... stop crying!" Sayori says. "Please.. I'm not going anywhere, okay?"

"I don't ever want to lose you again!" Craig says, crying into her shoulders.

"Shhhh," she responds. "It'll all be okay. It's okay to feel happy and sad about this moment. Y'know, I like happy the most, but sometimes when you have a little raincloud in your head..."

"A sad poem can help give the raincloud a little hug," Monika says, finishing Sayori's sentence.

"Monika.." Sayori says in shock.

"Sayori..." Monika replies.

"How are you my dear friend?" Sayori asks.

"I'm trying to do better, ahaha!" Monika replies.

Yuri and Natsuki see that Monika and Sayori are both crying. John takes his chance
to approach Yuri.

"H-hey." He says to her.

Yuri turns around, blushing at his sudden word.

"You are the kindest and the most talented person I know." He says. "Everything you've written has inspired me!"

Yuri's face goes red. Yet, she decides to let confidence take over by subtly raising an eyebrow. "W-wow," she responds. "I feel flattered that my writing has captivated you.

Natsuki leaves the house. She feels a bit overwhelmed by seeing everything change. She sees Cecil smoking a blunt in the distance.

"Why aren't you in there with them?" Natsuki asks. "Shouldn't you be spending this time making noise?"

"Eh," Cecil responds. "Sometimes I just wanna get away from the scene so I can process it."

"You too?" Natsuki asks.

"Yeah man," Cecil responds. "I like turning rainclouds into green clouds if you catch my drift."

"Wouldn't that be bad for your long term?" She asks.

"Probably," he responds. "I've been trying to cut it for awhile, but I haven't really let anyone know I'm actually struggling with it."

"Why?" She asks.

"I don't know at this point," he responds. "I just feel like I'm empty. I've tried filling the holes in my heart with whatever shit will stick."

"But isn't it kind of toxic to keep your friends out of the loop with how you really feel?" She asks.

"I... can't really argue with that," he responds. "You've actually inspired me. You're not afraid to let people know about how you feel. You don't care about judgment for liking what you like or feeling what you feel."

Natsuki tries to hide her smile. "You really think so?" She asks.

"Yeah!" He says. "You're really cool to me!"

His stomach growls.

"Shiiit," he says. "Let's stop by the gas station. I'll get some food for ya!"

Despite her new friend's predicament, Natsuki seems more than eager to grab a bite to eat after a long day.

Hey guys! Hope you enjoyed this chapter. Can't believe it's almost Christmas! Ahaha
