Chapter XI: Power

I stare at the blank roof on my bed as the silent night lays a blanket of darkness over the city.  A million questions rush through my head as I try to process everything that's happened so far. It's as if a massive weight of responsibility has been dropped on my shoulders. This whole thing is crazy. The whole prophecy thing, the legends, and yet I'm lying in a king size bed with three adorable girls asleep by my sides. Well, two on my sides, one on top of me. To be even more specific, Luna to my left, cuddling my arm, Lilith to my right, cuddling my arm, and Claire cuddled up on my chest. Damn that Aries, she just had to make this as awkward as possible. Now she and Carne share the room with seperate beds, and the innkeeper gave us a massive discount when he saw Claire. I'm planning on gathering information tomorrow, if I can even get any sleep. I only woke up because of the dream I was having. Chise and Akane showed up again, and Chise woke me up. Not before they sucked my soul dry, though, but i suppose she is succubus. The wind howls against the window as dark clouds roll over the city. It's about to rain. I can't fall asleep again, not after the dream. I hear a knock at the window, but I assume it's just the wind. There it is again! I look over at the window to see a pair of glowing, crimson eyes. That's terrifying. It knocks again. What could it be? Then I hear something in my head, like a voice. "Hey, Onii-chan! Open up, dammit!" It says. No way. It couldn't be. I look at it again. It's still there. "Yes, that's me!" It says. It's impossible. It simply can't be... "It's me, dumbass! Chise?" The voice says. That's her! But how am I supposed to open it without moving? "Just use telekinesis, silly" Chise says. Telekinesis? I have telekinesis!? How do I use it though? "Okay, fine, I'll do it!" She says. Seemingly as if on it's own, the latch to the window lifts open, and Chise hops inside. "Jeez, why didn't you open the window for me?" She asks. "How am I supposed to know how to use telekinesis, dammit?" I whisper. "Onii-chan, what's with the whispering?" She asks. "Well..." I whisper. She slowly approaches the bed, and when she sees Lilith, Luna and Claire, she seems to understand. "They're taking my spot!" She whispers. "I can't do anything about that!" I whisper. "Well, tomorrow night, we're having you all to ourselves" she says. Right. I forgot about her sister for a moment. "Where's Akane, by the way?" I whisper. "She's just being shy, like always" she whispers. Sure enough, a little blonde succubus comes climbing through the window. "Onee-sama, what are we doing?" She asks. "We're sneaking in" Chise says. "I can see that! I meant why... here..." She trails off when she sees me, and her face goes red as her scarlet eyes stare longingly at me. The girls will be moving to the room next door, so starting tomorrow I'll have this room to myself. Or, that's how it was supposed to be, but then these two showed up. "Well then, we'll be renting a room for tonight, so don't worry about us!" Chise whispers. "I'm going to sleep" I say, tucking under my blankets. I'm too tired to deal with this right now.

"Deisuke..." I hear Claire mumble as she shakes my body in an attempt to wake me up. "Y- yeah, I'm up" I say, sitting up straight. Carne and I need to find that dragon today. Well, to be frank, we're not even sure it is a dragon, so it could necessarily be anything. But from the descy the people gave us, I'd say it's the most likely scenario. What if it's Draag'nir? Maybe that's stretching it, but I'm not going to rule it out
Okay maybe I will, it seems a little too far-fetched that the dragon we're chasing would be the same one that... Well, broke this world, essentially. I may be the hero, but if I were to come across Draag'nir myself, I don't think I could win. Not with my current knowledge, anyway. All I have right now is a knife, and that's quite literally it, assuming clothes don't count as armour. "Deisuke, we need to go to the hall today" Claire says. I completely forgot about her. "Hall? What hall?" I query. "The one where you found me" she says. Oh, that hall. "Why do we have to go there? Carne and I still have to check out more spots for our beast" I say. "We are going there to help find it" she says. "Hold on, the location of this thing can be revealed to us? "How will it do that?" I ask. I don't see how it could. "We must just go there, and you will find out" she says. Well, I suppose I should get out of bed, then. I get out, preparing for a nice walk.
