"IT WILL BE QUITE STRESSFUL after you've become the princess. You will need to attend quite all sorts of ceremonies and help out with volunteer work, chat with the citizens and more. But, I'm sure that you will get the hang of it. Don't worry, I have faith in you." The Queen reassured Mirae after briefly explaining the things that Mirae had to do in the future. "I will put a lot of effort to please this family," Mirae replied with a smile.
Both of the ladies were having a lady talk in the Queen's room for the past half an hour. Mirae seemed to feel very comfortable around the Queen since the Queen was very welcoming and friendly. They had been chatting about the roles of princess and duties she have to accomplish as a princess of Lee's family.
"Mirae, do you truly love Heeseung?" The Queen asked out of a sudden which startled Mirae. Why is she asking me this out of nowhere? Does she still suspect my relationship with Heeseung? Does she hate me on the inside? "Well... Ermm..." Mirae could not bring herself up to respond with a good answer. She hated Heeseung to death. He caused so many problems for her and even made her unable to see Aunt Yoo for the last time.
If he did not exist, his parents would not have set up such a stupid competition and Mirae would not attend it and would see Aunt Yoo for the last time. Until now, Mirae was still unsure of the reason why her father left her here but, maybe there was a war and he wanted her to be safe. Hence, he randomly faked out an excuse. Adding on the fact that Heeseung was so rude to her in the real world, even injuring her.
"I'm not sure what's going on between the both of you but, I hope that you truly love him." The Queen said. "Heeseung's a quiet child. Since young, he doesn't tell anyone how he's feeling deep inside and would always distant himself from everyone. Which only caused him to hide his problems to himself, hurting himself even more."
"Mirae, ever since you're here, Heeseung started to change a little bit. It's not extremely obvious but, as his mother, I can feel it. He's starting to smile more often. Even it was a fake smile, it's still an extremely good improvement. Before you came, seeing him even faking a smile was as rare as seeing a blue moon." Heeseung's mother exaggerated. "You are the only one so far which made him speak up so much. I know very well that you may think he's annoying and all because of all the small arguments the both of you caused in the middle of the night. But, that proves that he's willing to show out his emotions and share his problems with you. He trusts you." The Queen explicated to Mirae.
He trusts me? Hell, you woman. What are you thinking? I bet that the reason he doesn't smile is because of how ugly he is when he does that. He doesn't talk much? Most probably his breath stinks. The responses of how Mirae honestly felt about Heeseung's mother words. "He trusts me?" Mirae pointed to herself, trying to control her unbearable laughter. Heeseung trusts her? What kind of joke is that?
"Yes, he does. It would be nice if he shares his thoughts and problems with you. Better if you can help him out as well. He always over stresses himself, please tell him to stop overstretching his limits." The Queen added on. Mirae silently nodded her head, still trying her best to control her snicker.
"Alright. Sleep in this room for tonight. Tomorrow will be one of the biggest days in your life. Have a good rest." The Queen stood up. "Tomorrow? Biggest day?" Mirae got puzzled, confused about what the Queen meant. "Aigoo... Did you forget about that already? Your wedding with Heeseung is tomorrow."
W-What the- WHAT?! HOW COULD I FORGET- SHIT, IT'S TOMORROW! WHAT AM I GOING TO DO? I CAN'T ESCAPE FROM THIS PLACE- Mirae widened her eyes in horror while her heart started to panic. "Aish... I'm only allowing you to stay in this room for today. I'm so excited to see you tomorrow in a wedding dress." Heeseung's mother squished Mirae's cheek while Mirae stared endlessly at the space with a blank mind.
"You can't sleep with Heeseung tonight because it's the traditional rule. The groom is not allowed to see the bride before the wedding day. So, I lend you my room for a while." The Queen looked around the room. "This is your room? I thought you shared a room with the King?" Mirae asked.
"Aish, I argued with him a few days ago. Details are not so important. But, seems like, for you, I will need to share the bed with him today. Don't mind me. Have a great night's sleep! Good night, Mirae!" The Queen left before Mirae was about to question her even more. Argument with someone you love, how cute. Mirae thought as she snuggled into the bed, smelling the comfy scent of baby powder.
Seems like the Queen likes this kind of scent as well. Aish, she loves kids. Maybe that's why. Mirae liked these kinds of smells as well. She loathed flowery scents because it makes her head giddy somehow. Sweet fruity scents were the best.
"I'm getting married tomorrow. It's the first time in my lives." Mirae suddenly recalled and felt her nervous heart palpating. She was scared and worried at the same time. What happens after the marriage? What was she supposed to do on the day of the marriage? What if she missed a step and stepped on her foot instead? Was that bad luck? What if... What if...
"Argh, fuck it. I'll leave it for the tomorrow Mirae to deal with the problems. I want to sleep now." Mirae covered her eyes with the pillow as forced herself to sleep.
