COURTNEY NEVER THOUGHT SHE WOULD GET TO THAT POINT. The point where both she and Meredith are happy and happily in love. She had always thought that one of them would end up alone (most probably Courtney). Ellis Grey had messed up their daughters so much that they had thought they didn't deserve love. Even then, they sometimes still believed that they didn't deserve what they had achieved themselves.
It was quite the experience for Courtney to be sitting on Izzie Stevens' bed, while Meredith was trying on wedding dresses in the bathroom. It felt surreal, like maybe Courtney was having some kind of weird dream. She had been getting those quite a lot recently. The night before for example she had dreamt that she and Mark had been over at her father's house to reveal that they were dating. Then all of a sudden Mark had asked her father if he had his permission to marry her.
Before dream-Thatcher had given his answer, Courtney's eyes had sprung open.
She blamed all the wedding related dreams on her sister getting married.
"If I show you the dress, you can never tell anyone, because it's bad. Really, really bad." Meredith's voice sounded from the bathroom.
Courtney rolled her eyes, "Mer, I'm sure it's not that bad. Don't be so dramatic."
Izzie looked over at Courtney, giving her a look that said stop talking. The blonde shrugged her shoulders, her eyes darting around the room. Izzie sure had gone all out. The entire room was decorated like she was an actual wedding planner. Pictures of flowers, cakes, dresses, venues, table sittings and so, so much more were pinned against the walls.
"Ok, it will be our little secret."
The door to the bathroom creaked open. Fabric shuffled against each other as Meredith walked out. Courtney's hand flew in front of her mouth, trying to quiet the laugh coming from her throat. Didn't really work though. Meredith was wearing a white princess gown with a big white skirt. The dress was pretty, but just not Meredith.
"Oh, wow."
Izzie had seemed to think otherwise. The blonde took out her phone and snapped a quick picture. A loud click sound went off.
Meredith didn't look happy. If she could run away, she really would. She and Derek had wanted it to be small. Weddings weren't really a big deal to both of them. They just wanted to be married and a wedding was just a process to get there. The oldest Grey had never planned on putting on a big, white poofy dress, but she couldn't exactly say no to Izzie. "Photos are not secret!"
"Isn't there a tiara that goes along with it?" Izzie looked around. Her eyes found the accessory. She quickly handed it over to Meredith, motioning to her to put it on. "Put it on, so I can get the full effect."
Courtney tried to hide another laugh as she looked at the tiara. Her sister glared at her. "N-no--no tiara, I told you 'simple'! It's, you know," Meredith threw her hands up in the air, "buffalo wings at the reception.
