COURTNEY LEFT A PATIENT'S ROOM, with her interns right behind her. It had been a couple of days since the interns had been out of their training wheels. They were doing surprisingly well and hadn't done anything stupid yet. However, the year was just beginning, so who knows what might happen in the future. The resident just hoped that they would be smart enough to avoid doing what she did last year. She hoped that her scare tactic was working. She looked behind her to see her interns talking amongst themselves, but Courtney didn't really listen in on their conversation. It looked quite interesting, though, judging by the looks on their faces.

"Come on, let's go or is gossiping more important than rounds?" Courtney said, with her hands on her hips. The talking stopped as they all looked at her like deer caught in headlights. The silence was about to be broken by Peter, but the resident held up her finger, stopping the words from leaving his mouth. "Don't even say it, Allen. I can see what you were trying to say just from the look on your face."

"I was actually going to say the opposite. Rounds are very important," Peter replied, which made the others roll their eyes. He caught up with her resident, a little bit too eager. "Hey, doctor Grey, I have a question. It's really important and I won't be able to sleep unless you answer."

Courtney raised her eyebrows, "What is it?"

"When will you let us do actual procedures? I just—"

"Yeah, when can we cut someone open?" Rebekah joined in, while the other two chimed in as well.

Courtney stopped walking and turned around. There was no smile in sight; she looked annoyed and angry even. She started wondering if she and her friends had been this annoying when they had been interns. Probably not, right? "Good question. Certainly not today, just because you asked me. I will let you cut when I feel like it's right and it's certainly not now!" She squinted her eyes at them, which made them sigh. At least they had tried. "You haven't even been interns for a month and you're already nagging me about getting to cut?"

"Don't we learn the most by practising though? I mean I—" Emily spoke up, her voice quiet and soft.

"What did you say?"

"Oh, um, nothing, it's nothing. I didn't say anything." The blonde intern took her words back, while Rebekah patted her on the back, telling her that she did a good job. The others gave her a thumbs up, proud of her, but Courtney didn't see any of that as she had already turned her back on them.

Then, they ran into Alex and his group of interns. The two groups merged together with the interns happily chatting away with their colleagues. They were gossiping about Seattle Grace's newest drama, which they had heard from another group. The two residents leading the group down the hallway greeted each other with a nodd. Alex, then, took one look at his best friend to figure out that something was bothering her. "What's your problem? You look like you're on a murder path. Did someone spit in your coffee or something?"
