Ch-25- Sectumsempra

Mayrah was a little tensed when she didn't see him even at breakfast next day.

She caught up with Zabini as they were walking to potions class, late after lunch.
"Is he okay?", she asked as if he knew who that was.
"Yes. He is sleeping in today.", Zabini replied shrugging.
"Good. He has got to rest. He is literally messing with his health.", she said as she settled on the table opposite Zabini.
"Mayrah. You take care too, okay?", he said with concern.
"Ofcourse. What will happen to me?", she said smiling pulling out contents as they made the potion for the day.
"I don't know. Just be careful."
"Looks like Mayrah has got another caring best friend.", answered Luna with a side smirk to Mayrah.
"Oh Luns! You know there is no second you.", she said giving her a side hug.
"Yeah Lovegood. No one wants this pea brain except you.", he joked.
"Shut up Zabini. I will make you drink a vile of living death potion.", Mayrah said smirking at him.
"Yeah. Sure. Thats what your parents did.", someone one table down commented.
"Hey! Watch it!", Zabini warned to the Ravenclaw classmate.
"Leave it Zabini.", she said acting like she was concentrating on stirring her potion.
"You can't fight her battles Blaise. I understood that early in our friendship. I think you should too.", Luna said in her honest voice.
"Are you always this honest Lovegood?", he asked.
"Yes. It helps me to stay tension free. Try it Zabini.", she said shrugging.
He looked at Mayrah wide eyed and Mayrah just shrugged, she had a set of two different but great best friends.

"I just realised I haven't spent time with Luna lately.", she said to Blaise as Luna had gone to Flitwick after class and both of them were walking to the great hall for dinner.
"Maybe you should spare sometime for your best friend and let me spend some with mine.", he suggested.
"Oh yeah, about that. What's up with you and Draco?", she asked about their noticing minimum talking lately.
"We had a bit of an argument. I want to make things right though. I think he can manage duty alone today. You and Lovegood have a dorm session and I will see him in the duty today. How does that sound?", he asked.
"Perfect.", she replied with a small smile as they sat down for dinner at their respective tables.

Raj went to her dorms post dinner, she and Luna caught up on how the things were around them. She told Luna about her Christmas and how things went with Draco. Luna like a good friend she was listened to her and also told her to be careful for a reason Mayrah didn't get but she let it slip through.
Zabini to the astronomy tower.
"Hi Mate.", Zabini said as he saw Draco leaned on one of the railings of the astronomy tower looking at the half lit moon.
"Hi Blaise. What do you want? Mayrah is not here.", he said formally.
"I am not here for her.", Blaise said standing next to him in a very same posture.
" Do you want to talk?", Blaise asked.
"I don't know what to talk about anymore.", he said cynically.
"Draco, it will hurt her. You know that. I know you don't want to, we are not our parents.",Blaise reminded him as a sort of a mantra.
"I have decided to tell her.", he said quietly.
"Its not going to be easy mate. But its going to be the right thing to do.", Zabini replied with a heavy sigh, "Maybe she will understand. You will not loose her.", he continued keeping a hand on his buddy's shoulder.
"I know May. She won't understand. The trauma she has been through because of this, she will not understand. Maybe she will hate me. Who knows? But if she stays so close to me, I know I am risking her. Its better to make her think that I am abominable and keep her alive and safe rather to make her stay with me and risk her life.", he said determined.
"You can come back. You know. You can leave it all.", Zabini advised.
"He will kill me, he will kill mom. He will harm dad. I have my family at stake."
"Mate, don't drive yourself so much into this that you can't come back.", Zabini advised and left the astronomy tower.
Draco sighed heavily. Everything and everyone was at stake. He will have to play nicely and carefully.

Two days at breakfast everyone was eating, discussing more disappearances, getting concerned, it all just seemed a part of a gloomy morning routine now.
Mayrah saw Ron on Gryfinndor table with the other two and went to meet him.
"Hey! Doing good now?", she asked.
"Yes. Absolutely amazing."
Mayrah smiled back and saw Draco entering in the great hall and her eyes lit up.
"Guys.", Hermione demanded attention, "Look, Katie Bell is back."
Harry's eyes shot up in the direction, so did others, she was talking to a friend and Harry decided to go and have a word with her.
Ron, Hermione and Mayrah were talking random things, when Hermione's eyes traveled behind Mayrah.
"What is he doing?", Hermione asked as they saw Harry look at Malfoy dead in eyes and move towards him in quick sprints.
Draco looked perplexed at seeing Katie and ran across the great hall, out in the corridor.
"There is something wrong. I will check up.", Mayrah said to the two and ran behind the rivals out in the corridors.
"Mayrah no!", Ron said but she didn't pay attention.
As soon as she saw Draco running to the third floor washroom and Harry following him, she realised that it couldn't be good and they will need a help.
She ran back to the great hall where she caught Snape and McGonagall talking at the entrance.
"Professor!! I need your help!", she exclaimed panting.
"Ms. Raj are you okay?", McGonagall asked.
"Harry! Draco! Might get into a fight!", she said in urgency.
"Where are they?", Snape asked straight away.
"3rd floor washroom.", she said sprinting ahead and guiding them.

As they reached the 3rd floor washroom, they could hear wands swishing and spells being shot.
"You two stay here.", Snape instructed as he opened the door.

"SECTUMSEMPRA!", Harry swished and Draco shot down to the ground with sword like cuts down his body and blood oozing out.
"DRACO!", Mayrah couldn't restrain herself from shouting.
McGonagall caught her in time not to rush into the scene and harm herself.
Snape took quick strides towards Draco and started healing him with a spell as he withered and twisted in immense pain.
Harry looked aghast at his own doings, like he didn't know his little spell could cause such a damage.

Mayrah looked at him with blank expressions. He looked down in guilt.
McGonagall left a hold on Mayrah and said sternly, "In my office. NOW.", and walked away with Harry.
Mayrah plopped down on the floor cupping her hands and looking at him blankly. He was bathed in his own blood, he looked so bothered, he couldn't handle it. Yet Mayrah couldn't do anything, and that too one of her close friends hurt him. Harry had clearly overstepped in a stupid rivalry.

"Mr. Malfoy is okay. Don't worry.", Snape assured.
"Lets carry him to the hospital.", he further said as he and Mayrah held a well built Draco on their shoulders with his limp body dragging along.

Madam Pomfrey with her expertise, treated him perfect in no time and let him rest for that day, Mayrah was keeping him company. She had her hand intwined with his and was holding it together, close to herself.
"You should go. You are missing classes.", he said slowly.
She shook her head blankly.
"May.."
"I said no.", she snapped, a lone tear passed her cheek.
"Come on. I am okay. No need to cry now.", he said casually to start putting her away.
"No. You aren't, you didn't see that bloodied up body of yours. You didn't have to see the pain that I saw you going through. You didn't know how helpless I felt. Okay? You might be okay. But I am not.", she stated gravely.
"It was just a heat of the moment May.", he tried to convince her.
"Harry cursed you. Didn't he?", she asked slowly.
"Yes. It was not intentional I felt. Heat of the moment May.", he again warned.
"I don't know."
"Mayrah. Don't"
"I have to talk to Harry.", she said getting up.
"May...", he said weakly.
"I will be back in a few minutes.", she said kissing top of his head and leaving the hospital.
He sighed. He just hoped Mayrah didn't do something in the heat of the moment.

She found Harry, Ginny, Hermione and Ron sitting down in one of the corridor corners.
She took out her wand just for safety.
"Really Raj? You think he is going to hurt you?", Ginny asked looking at the wand in her hand.
"Maybe. I don't know."
"Mayrah, it was just an impulse.", Harry said with guilt.
"Throwing a curse? Being Impulsive? Harry, what were you thinking!?", she snapped, "Tell me honestly, Did you knowingly cast it?", she asked straight away.
"No Mayrah no, I would never. I just read that somewhere and in the heat of the moment it just came out. I am sorry. Really.", he said remorseful.
"Okay then."
"Mayrah are we cool?", he asked.
"No. I don't know. Give me sometime. Seeing him all bloodied up that too by a close friend has just... I don't know.", she said blankly and turned away.

Harry sighed and nodded as he knew she wasn't wrong and she will come around sooner or later.
