Luke's POV:
It was dark in the room. Only a small candle gave me light and yet it was enough. "Ruby ..." I called after a blonde duck. But my ex-girlfriend didn't turn around. She didn't move from the spot. "You'll only get me now when I have more than you," she said calmly. But I knew that she was only hiding her anger. I countered, "You ran away! You were somewhere in the nowhere! How should I have found you!"
"You didn't want to, you ran to the Ducks."
A shiver ran down my spine.
"I know about it."
"You don't understand, I-"
"I, I, I. You're only concerned with you."
"You wanna destroy the world!"
"I'll correct you, I 'hafta' destroy the world."
"No, who says that this, this prophecy is true?"
"I is. I felt it."
"And what are you doing now? Kill me?"
There was silence. I was slowly wondering if it was a bad idea to have looked for Ruby at the old warehouse in St. Erpelburg. "Yes," Ruby's cold voice replied. She turned around. Tears flowed from her eyes, which broke my heart. "Ruby, think about it," I yelled. "It's me, Luke!" "The Luke who's in my way," Ruby whispered, barely audible.
"The prophecy-"
"It's true, Luke!!"
The floor shook from Ruby's powerful magic. "You are blind, you fool!"
"I-"
"It's not about you! It's about me and my revenge! I tricked Doofus, I beat the Ducks, I made Edwards a criminal, I ... I'm the evil of this world. I have to."
I couldn't believe it. I asked her angrily, "How long have you been doing this? With Lunaris, Gilles, who else?"
"The Ducks and you!"
"What did do the Ducks?"
"It's Lena De Spell. She is my cousin."
"What?"
But I didn't know that I would never get an answer. Ruby was already raising her hands. Bazing.
