70 - Epilogue

"Do you have a visual on the target?" Taehyung's voice sounded urgent.

"Noooope." Jin said in a sing-song voice, making the others sigh at the playfulness of their eldest.

"I have a bad feeling about this." Taehyung said again but this time, it was his husband who answered.

"Relax, Tae. I'm sure it's nothing. Let's give it five more minutes."

Taehyung hummed in agreement. He knows that stake-out missions like this don't always go according to a schedule but he can't help but feel anxious. The main reason for that is that he was in the surveillance van with others while Jungkook was out there, alone.

"Don't worry." Jin said in a soft voice, understanding the reason for their team leader's troubled heart. "I will keep an eye on him."

Taehyung mumbled a thanks while Jungkook softly smiled to himself. No matter how much time passes, Taehyung's protective instinct over Jungkook has never dulled down.

They were currently at a construction site, where their latest target is about to show up for a drug deal. Taehyung and his team had been following this guy's movements for a few months now but he always managed to slip past their fingers. Today they had a confirmed intel for this location.

Taehyung, Hoseok and Beomgyu were in the van, along with Jimin who were handling the tech stuff. Jungkook however, was in the field, disguised as a wandering teenager, just walking around the site. How he could be passed as a teenager at the age of 27 is a mystery but here he was, doing exactly that.

Suddenly there was a loud noise in the background as the hydraulic drilling machine started its work. It was loud, even for the people in the surveillance van but for Jungkook, it was drowning out all other sounds, making him practically deaf.

"Kookie!" Taehyung called out in an alarmed voice but the younger one couldn't hear it at all.

"Tae, they are coming out!" Jin's voice startled the other's. "Jungkook's right in their path."

That was all it took for Taehyung to get out of the van and run. He knew Jungkook would be as good as blind without the information coming through his ear piece, same as Taehyung would be once he reached there. Jungkook could and probably would try to assess and make a decision on his own, and that's what worried Taehyung more than anything.

He swiftly moved through the site, taking cover from the various machinery and other rubble there till he got to where Jungkook was standing. Luckily, the younger was hiding behind a huge machine, while his face looked like he was doing some heavy thinking.

Taehyung quickly reached him and just as their target came within viewing distance of the younger, Taehyung already had him in his arms.

If Jungkook was surprised to suddenly being pulled into a rough kiss by his husband, he didn't show it. He stilled for a second before he realized it was Taehyung, and then he responded enthusiastically.

Taehyung pinned Jungkook to the machine, while his hands roamed all over the younger's body. They didn't even realize that the drilling machine had stopped its work and that the group of 5 men that they were hiding from, had already seen them.

One of the guys wolf whistled and Taehyung broke the kiss and turned to look at him. The man smirked before speaking up.

"Aaaish! What are kids up to these days?!" The man's voice sounded mocking. "They always go for older guys."

Jungkook had the decency to smile shyly at that, but Taehyung could see the hint of mischief in them. Or maybe he was trying hard not to laugh loudly at Taehyung for being called old.
