He didn't ask any questions when he picked me up and for that I was thankful. All he was concerned with was if I was okay and if I needed anything else.

He hadn't changed one bit.

His curly hair dangled just below his ears and his hazel eyes were as golden as I remember them being.

When we were parked, he pulled me in for a hug and told me to text him once I was in my dorm room.

Just by the entrance I spotted Ian busily talking on the phone with Rhys and Emphraim by his side. Rhys slightly tapped him on the shoulder and pointed in my direction. When his eyes met mine they doubled in size and he stormed my way.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?" He yelled and grabbed my wrist.

I flinched at the tone of his voice and tears welled up in my eyes.

At that moment Nathan showed up.

"Li." He started, "you forgot your-"

He froze at the sight of us. His eyes landed on our hands and then followed the route back to our faces.

"And who the hell are you?" Ian dropped my wrist and stepped forward.

Nathan also stepped forward and clenched his fists. "I'm the one who got her home safe. Are you the one responsible for the tears in her eyes?"

"Nathan!" I interjected and put a hand up. "I'm okay."

His infuriated eyes lingered on Ian a little longer before he focused them back on me.

"You forgot this." He stated then placed my phone in my hand.

He leaned in, placed a kiss on my cheek then whispered in my ear. "Call me Incase of anything."

Once Nathan had left the scene, I turned back to look at Ian and he was fuming.

"Adalia. Who is he to you? And don't you dare lie because that's only going to make things worse for you."

"It's really none of your business." I wipe the tear that has fallen on my cheek and try to push past him.

He grabbed my wrist once again and stopped me. "Did I fucking stutter?"

I looked at his hand on my wrist then back at him. "Ian let go of me."

"Don't test me Adalia. I can easily have him looked up and you know it. So are you going to tell me or are we going to have another Kyson situation?"

My tolerance for Ian was running thin and if I stayed a second longer i'd end up saying things to him that i'd instantly regret. "Like I said it's none of your fucking business. Now move."

My words appalled him so much he stepped aside. "Alright then, i'll show you what is."

At the time I didn't really pay attention to the message of the words or the malicious intent laced within them. All I knew was that I wanted to be as far away as humanly possible from Ian Thompson. He gave me no further trouble and watched me as I walked into my dorm room.

I couldn't sleep that night no matter how much I tried. Ian's piqued  eyes bore a hole into my soul. I kept wondering what the words he uttered meant. If given the opportunity I knew he'd hurt me but something told me it wouldn't be physical this time.

I jolted awake when I noticed a shadow in the shape of a human by the corner of my room. He held a glass in his hand.

"I needed to know you're okay." He whispered. The room was dark but I could tell he had just  come from drinking. He could barely keep his balance

I grabbed the alarm clock off my bedside table and faced it towards him. "Ian it's 2 am."

He ignored my statement. "Does loving me scare you that much?"

I turned on the light and sat up straight in my bed. He flinched at how bright it was but quickly adjusted to it. The glass he held had whiskey in it and the office shirt he wore was wrinkled. His hair wasn't in the best state either.

"Ian you're drunk and it's late. Can we not have this conversation right now?"

He placed his glass on the table and sat on the opposite end of my bed. "I'm not a bad man Adalia, you just make my blood boil sometimes and I admit I haven't handled it in the right way i'm  just-"

"You're just what?" I pivoted my body to face him.

"I'm scared of losing you." He sighed

"Was I ever yours to begin with?"

We sat in silence for a while and all he did was look at me. Then suddenly he got up off the bed and grabbed his drink off the table.

"You win."

Those were the last words he spoke before he walked out of my room. Something in me wanted to stop him and tell him to spend the night but I couldn't bring myself to do it so I just watched him walk away and I felt something in me break.
