"Ian." I greeted, leaving the door slightly ajar. His ink black hair was shaggy today and he was dressed casually in sweats and a hoodie.

Kyson was now getting up and was making his way over to the door.

"Adalia." He returned the gesture.

"You haven't been picking my calls." He gestured to a brand new phone in his hand. "So I assumed that your phone wasn't working, so I got you a new one that is in much better working condition."

I pinched the bridge of my nose, feeling very irritated by Ian's logic. Did he not understand that I did not want to talk to him, or his ego just wouldn't let him?

"How can we help you?" Kyson stood by my side now, placing a possessive hand around my shoulder.

Ian's intense eyes followed his hand and I was pretty sure he was thinking of a thousand and one ways to rip it right out of its socket.

"You must be, Kyson." He said with distaste before intentionally walking between us to enter the house.

"Sure, come in make yourself right at home." Kyson said sarcastically, rolling his eyes.

The energy in the air had now taken a drastic shift, it was very tense and the exorbitant amount of testosterone present was  suffocating.

"I won't be staying long, I just came to pick up my fianceé." His eyes bounced over to me.

"Fianceè?" Kyson, looked confused as he looked around. "Look dude, I think you got the wrong appartment."

"Oh." Ian mischievously smirked down at me. "You haven't told him."

It was said more as more of a statement than a question.

"Told me what?"

I nervously bit down on my lip and fiddled with my fingers, buying myself time. Kyson took quick strides towards me and gripped both of my shoulders with his hands.

"Adalia, what the hell is going on?"

Ian was between us in seconds, tearing Kyson's hands off me. "I'd appreciate it if you kept your hands to yourself."

I pushed at Ian's chest trying to get him to back down. "Ian, I need you to leave. Now."

"I don't know what crack you're smoking but there's no way in hell I'm leaving you alone with him."

Go with the plan, a tiny voice at the back of my head said. So I took in a breath, bracing myself for what I was just about to say. Kyson would most definitely not want to talk to me after this and it would put our friendship on the line but I'd rather have him hurt and mad than dead.

"You have nothing to worry about. Kyson is gay."

I could see Ian's form relax almost immediately. He took a step back, placing his hands in his pockets. I knew it was wrong to lie about my bestfriends sexuality but it was the only way I would keep peace between them.

"Kyson is that true? You're gay?" Ian walked up to him, a hand tucked in his pocket.

It was all up to Kyson now, the ball was in his court. It wouldn't come to me as a shock if he denied it. His eyes darted from me then to Ian and then a huge sigh later he finally spoke.

"Yes Ian, I am very much gay. You have nothing to worry about."

Ian let out his own sigh of relief and every last bit of tension in his shoulders had now evidently vanished.

"Okay, then I'll uh..give you two some space."

The door closed shut and before I could even get a word out, Kyson was already giving me an earful.
