As my eyes slowly fluttered open I took knowledge of the fact that I was on Ian's bed, which I found strange because from what I could conjure I remember falling asleep on the floor.

Beside the bed, I found Ian crouched down looking at me. Caught off guard by his presence,I sat up quickly  pulling the bedsheets up to my face.

"Are you hungry?"

He asked casually, acting oblivious to the elephant in the room; like for one, what had happened the night before and why I was on his bed.

"I'm okay." I squeaked. "I need to get back to school."

The truth of the matter at hand was that I was hungry in fact I was starving but if I said yes he'd make me stay for breakfast and I didn't want to stay a second longer.

"How rude of me, I shouldn't have asked, of course you are. Females are always hungry."

I got up from the bed. "Thank you for the offer but I'll just get something on my way to school."

"It's not negotiable. You're staying for breakfast. It'll give us a chance to talk about last night."

He walked from his end of the bed to mine and stood inches away. I took a step back trying to create space between us but ended up falling onto the bed. He got onto the bed with me and loomed over me.

"Are you scared of being alone with me?" leaning in, he whispered.

"No of course not."

In my head it translated to 'yes I am very terrified' but Ian had the same ability as dogs; he could sense fear and when dogs picked up on fear their next course of action would be to attack.

"Then why are you sweating so much?"  Using his finger he swiped a trickle of sweat off my forehead.

"Um..that's just because it's really hot in here."

He smirked down at me. "The AC's on."

"Well then you should call someone to have it checked out because I think its broken."

Thick laughter rumbled out of him and  he inadvertently fell on top of me. Now we were closer than ever, our bodies mashed up against each other. When his laughter died down and he realized what questionable position we were in, he went still and openly gawked at me.

"You feel like home." He whispered gently onto my lips before rolling off of me.

I liked how those words sounded. It was comforting to know that I could be to someone, what no one was to me.

"I know me apologizing about what happened yesterday won't make the situation any better and that's why I've vowed to make it up to you from this day onwards until things are okay between us again."

"Do you really want to make it up to me?" I turned to face him.

"Yes whatever it is you want, I'll do anything."

"Anything right?"

He grabbed my hand and gave it a squeeze. " Yes, anything."

I yanked my hand out of his. "I need you to  first of all to relieve me of this contract and most importantly I need you to break all ties with my family and let me go."

Ian clenched his jaw, readying himself to argue against it and just then the door bell rang, interrupting our conversation. He went to check who it was and I decided to stay behind in the bedroom. When a whole 10 minutes had passed and he hadn't come back yet so I decided to go check on him.

I found him engrossed in a conversation with a very attractive older woman. She wore a bright pink power suit and her caramel hair dangled just above her shoulders.

Her eyes widened when she saw me. "And who might this be? Your latest piece of meat?"

Ian turned around to face me. "Adalia go back to the room, I'll be with you shortly."

"Have you no respect for me Ian?  I'm your wife! for godsake-"

His hand flew up, silencing her. "First of all it's ex-wife and if you must know, she's the woman I'm going to marry."

I kept looking back and forth, not knowing what to make of the situation. All I knew was that Ian had a lot of explaining to do once this  was over.

"We're still legally married so I have the right to refer to myself as your wife."

Suddenly he punched the wall right behind her. "That's because you won't sign the damn  divorce papers!"

She twirled a strand of her hair around her finger not slightly bothered by him punching the wall.

"Seems like someone has been skipping their anger management classes."

He ran a frustrated hand over his face. "What do you want, Madeline?"

I really wished I left the room when I had the opportunity now I was stuck, I couldn't move. My heart felt heavy. He was still married? and he hadn't told me? I was involved with a married men. I had become that woman

"Well for one I want my husband back."

Ian balled up his fists and stared at her with heart wrenching eyes. "You're dead to me Maddy. You should have thought of the consequences when you were busy screwing my uncle behind my back."

"Now get the hell out of my house before I call the police."

She put her hands up in surrender and picked up her handbag off the chair. " I admit that it was a stupid mistake. If I could take it all back I would. Just know that I'm not giving up on us."
