Chapter one: New friends

Kathryn Le Wrea held a map of the town in her hands as she wandered the streets supposedly there was meant to be another train that took her to her final destination.

"No matter how many times Ryan goes over this with me I always somehow manage to get lost! No matter what GPS system I have..." The girl sighed - she was about sixteen years of age with long brown curly hair that was tied into a messy bun that her brother joked before she left on her train ride looked like a crossiant. Other than her disaster of a hair style she was a comely looking girl almost serene to the eye with both western and Asian features present upon her. A brass aries necklace worn upon her neck - A new Zodiac Mistress apparently.

Not long ago her train arrived and she got off without any problem, however, now that she was in Rosenweld she was (as always when she ventured into new territory) hopelessly lost.

Just as she was contemplating her situation she crashed into something or rather someone as his books fell everywhere She looked up and saw a boy probably only a few years older than her with soft blue eyes and ginger hair.

"Sorry about that I wasn't looking." The lad shyly began.

"No! It's okay I wasn't looking either, so sorry as well!" Kathryn immediately apologised as well as she helped the lad up.

"Hehe, it's fine..." The boy awkwardly laughed as he and the Brunette in front of him began to clear his book.

"So... What's your name?" The boy began in a desperate attempt to break the awkward silence.

"Kathryn Le Wrea... You?"

"Cedric Hughes."

"So where are you heading Cedric?"

"I'm heading to the library, I work there part-time."

"Cool!" Kathryn smiled as she picked up a book from the ground but then frown as she realised that it was completely ruined - her feet had landed on it when she fell - it wasn't salvageable.

"Sorry... I'll pay for it." Kathryn signed sadly realising she had caused trouble for someone once more - Damn she had come here so that she could become independent and not be a burden to anyone yet now she had not been in Rosenweld for an hour yet she had already destroyed something of value!

"It's fine Kathryn, its not a precious book in fact it's a spare that the library ordered just in case."

"Even still I destroyed property."

And so that is how Kathryn ended up in a small library downtown paying for the book - and it was a good thing for Cedric too because the head librarian seemed to be in a horrendous mood, God forbid if he had come back with a destroyed book alone!

And that is also how she ended up in a cafe with the lad. Who ended up being rather fun to be around when he wasn't embarrassed or under threat of being gutted alive by his boss, in the end, they exchanged star gadget numbers and she found out that he was a Libra Horse, and likewise she was an Aries Rooster.

"Wow, I love Libra and horses you are so cool! Hey, are you perchance going to become a zodiac master as well? I'm heading to Rose Cruce."

"Yeah but I need to save money first. I can't rely on mom as she's busy with her new husband and he doesn't like me."

Kathryn sadly looked at him - she had an easy ride - to her parents she was the first priority and they would care for her and support her but that was not always the case.

Sometimes families sucked - as her mom said. She had only met her mothers' siblings a few times throughout her young life but she understood what her mother meant to a degree.

"I'm lucky, huh?" Kathryn awkwardly began, "Despite sometimes being a bit controlling my mom and dad were awesome."

"Yeah super, your mom and dad sound awesome!" Cedric replied with a sad smile.

"I admire you, Cedric. Working that hard to achieve such heights is amazing, you'll get there someday! I know it!"

"Thank you." Cedric blushed.

"Anyway I gotta go now - I'll see you around?" Kathryn

"Sure. I work from one to six pm at the library." Cedric answered also getting up from his seat.

"Cool, I'll drop by sometime."
