Hauwa speed up to Malawi close as she slowed down her car honking continuously in front of his father's Mansion. But the gate man wasn't responding. She quietly stepped out of the car and started hitting the gate aggressively but still no one made an attempt to open the gate
"Oh my God! But Ahmed (her step brother) told me everyone was at home, they're all in town so why ain't anyone responding" she soliloquies reaching for her phone inside her Prada hand bag that that was swinging around her right arm
"Hello Ahmed and at the gate please come over and let me in" she said in her calm voice with a relief.
"Okay Yaya!! Welcome home!!" He chortled out of excitement
"Thank you!!" She replied with a deep smile as she made an attempt to end the call but got interrupted by a huskier voice making her body to shiver and the phone fell from her hand out of fear and shock!!
"Amanah!!! (Hauwa)" that was her father's voice, he yelled loudly as she looked up to him whom was standing at his giant story building you could see him clearly from the short modern gate
"Abbu!!$ her lips curved into a smile and her eyes got tears of a sudden out of excitement she hasn't set her eyes on him for six months now and with no calls no messages he never picked her calls nor reply her messages she missed her Abbu so much but what she couldn't understand was why he shouted her pet name in that manner
"Go back to where you're coming from!!" He yelled pointing at her car and she felt pains penetrating her chest at least he should have let her in to see and hug him but he chooses to send her away without letting her in.
"Abb...." She couldn't complete her statement when he cut her off a thunderous warning tune
"Rujiet (get back in Arabic language) And she sighted Mami her dangerous and wicked step mum smirking while snaking her arms around her father's waist and resting her head on his shoulder, at this point her heart broke into pieces she no longer understood her father ever since she got married well he was also behaving strange before her wedding too but she never expected that a bitter day like this will come! A day her own father will stop her from entering his house
"Abbu lays eadilanaan (Abbu is not fair)" Ahmed blurted out of anger
"Alitazam Alhudu wa'udkhil (keep quiet and get inside)" Mami said to Ahmed and he walked back angrily with tears threatening to Cascade down his cheeks and a hard lump found its way to his throat.
"Innalillahi wa ina ilahim raji'un ! Innalillahi wa ina ilahim raji'un!!" Hauwa kept on muttering while she held on to car for support because she couldn't curtail the sudden painful feelings that embraced her soul and mind! Her head aches badly as a sudden dizziness over shadowed her! She knew her father never cared about her and Mami was always the obstacles. Ever since she got married to her father things never got to be the same as before.
"Baby Amanah!!" She mimicked her father's voice calling her pet name with lonely tears gushing down her cheeks.
"Amanah!!!" The gate man quickly opened the gate and walked up to her
"Baba isa!!" She quickly wiped her tears and squatted to greet the old man but he stopped yet because of her condition, the big baby bump and the sad tears in her eyes
"I'm sorry I didn't attend to you earlier! I was over joyed when Ahmed told me you were coming to spend some days with us. Ahmed told everyone we were all waiting to see you and suddenly Hajia warned me not to open the gate for anybody today and she stated that failure to do so I will loose my job!!" The old man narrated sadly wishing he could help the sad soul in front of him in anyway but he he couldn't instead he prayed and advise her to take everything easy and keep praying for her father for everyone knows that Mami is responsible for something fishy and and fetish that's definitely hidden somewhere.
