When I woke up again, Tyler was gently running his hands through my hair.

"Did I wake you?" He mumbled when I sighed.

"Probably not." I replied groggily, wrapping an arm around his waist to keep him there as long as possible.

He laughed quietly, the warm sound reaching into my chest.

"How are you awake before me?" I asked.

"I do not have an answer for that one."

"Don't you always have an answer?"

"I never have an answer." He said it like a fact, not like he was sad about it. I smiled to myself.

After about a half an hour more I had the good sense to actually get up. When I untangled from Tyler, his warmth left me and I grabbed a blanket to wrap around my shoulders to compensate. He made a small noise of protest but I when I asked if his plans he mentioned earlier were to sleep all day, he was silent. (In the trees.)

I went to the kitchen seeking a coffee maker. I found the filters and the coffee, but no machine. Before I could ask if I was supposed to boil water myself, Tyler was there and leaning his head on my shoulder.

"Tiiiiiiiiiiiired..." He moaned sleepily. I laughed lightly and turned to him.

"Cooooffee. Do we have to leave the house to get it or are these some kind of wild goose chase clues?" I held up the boxes.

"Bottom cabinet to the right." He intoned, rubbing his messy hair. I ignored how cute that was and turned around to find the caffeine spring.

I found it, hidden back in a cupboard I never would have opened.

"And why is it in there?" I mentioned as we waited for the coffee to brew.

"My mom doesn't like having a lot of appliances visible." He said automatically. I looked at him, tilting my head slightly to the side. His quick response that was almost mechanical just made me question what he meant. His eyes met mine. They were brown and kind and bright from just rising. He turned his head and let out a breath.

"I don't like having a lot of appliances visible." He changed his former statement.

"Does it seem too disconnected to you?" I said softly. Tyler looked at me again, this time the calmness of his expression illuminating the seemingly-always-there bags under his eyes.

"Yes," the word was barely distinguishable, "No one else asks that."

(Bc nobody thinks what u think ya silly walnut)

After making coffee and consequentially fully waking up, Tyler told me to get ready.

"This bathroom's all yours. I'll be down the hall."

"Okay." I showered quickly, thanking my past self for packing all my necessities so well, and got dressed. I chose black jeans and a black long sleeved shirt under a red fleece.

Tyler had his car keys in hand when I walked down the hall to meet him.

"All ready?"

"Yep." I answered. "And where are we going?"

"Somewhere cool"

"Everywhere's cool. Literally. It's winter in Ohio."

"Okay, Susan. Then somewhere probably cliché, but fun."

"...Susan?!" What the heck did he mean by calling me Susan? What?

"Like a weather lady name. It made sense in my head. Let's just go." He shook his head as I laughed.
