WE'LL SAVE THE ENCANTO

Prologue

3rd POV

Two children sat on the lap of Alma Madrigal, the Abuela to the Madrigal Family, with their eyes closed. Alma spoke something in Spanish to them then something in english.

"Open your eyes." They did as they was told to see a beautiful candle on the window sill.

"This is where our magic comes from?" A brown haired girl, called Mirabel, asks.

"Mm-hmm. This candle holds the miracle given to our family." Alma told the two children.

"How did we get a miracle?" A black haired boy, called Kazuya, asks. Alma brought the two children closer to her and hugged them both tightly as she lent her head against Mirabel.

"Long ago, when my three babies had just been born, your Abuelo Pedro and I were forced to flee our home. And though many joined us, hoping to find a new home, we could not escape the dangers and your Abuelo was lost." Alma begins explaining, "But in our darkest moment, we were given a miracle. The candle became a magical flame the could never go out. And it blessed us with a refuge in which to live. A place of wonder." Alma finishes.

"An Encanto." The two children say together.

"An Encanto." Alma repeats. "The miracle grew. And our house, our Casita itself came alive to shelter us. When my children came of age, the miracle blessed each with a magic Gift to help us. And when their children came of age..." Alma trails off.

"They got magic, too." Mirabel says.

"That's right!" Alma tells her chuckling. "And together, our family's Gifts have made our new home a paradise. Tonight, this candle will give you two your Gifts, mi vida. Strengthen our community, strengthen our home. Make both your family's proud." Alma finished.

"Make my family proud." The two children said to themselves. They both turned around to look out the window to see fireworks and then they looked towards the floor to see Casita bringing them a clock to tell them it's time.

"Yes, yes, Casita, we're going!" Alma told the house smiling as the two children jumped off the bed and Casita brought their shoes to them. Mirabel giggled as they put them on and then grabbed hold of their Abuela as they pulled her up. Mirabel held onto her hand and Kazuya held onto her dress.

"What do you think our Gifts will be?" Kazuya asks Alma.

"You are both wonders, Mirabel Madrigal and Kazuya Ubuyashiki. Whatever Gift awaits will be just as special as you two." Alma told them.
