Poem
‘I aim for perfection’
I aim for perfection,
I made that decision.
A long time ago,
I still believe so.
I set of again,
To let the game begin.
I inhale deeply,
Pretend to act calmly.
A twinge of anxiety
Moves inside of me.
I try to ignore,
I look for a cure.
Stubborn, it’s there.
Not going anywhere.
Now, it’s dark.
Fear’s leaving a mark.
Don’t let it do this! Don’t let it ruin this!
I make my first move,
Having things to prove.
But,
I made a mistake,
Oh, for heaven’s sake.
They’re not excited,
They seem disappointed.
Sad, I cry.
And now I don’t try.
Happy fear is,
Because now it wins.
It left an effect,
And now I am not perfect.
