Chapter 11

"Eric?! What the hell are you doing here?"

"Uh, hindi ko ba nasabi sayo na engineering ang course ko?"

"So?"

"So, that explains why I'm here? Maybe I'm the engineer of the restaurant?" He said.

"I see." Ang tangi ko nalang nasabi dahil nag mukha akong tanga don! Aba anong malay ko na engineer pala 'tong lalaking to.

"Now, please both of you have a seat. I need to finish this meeting right now because my secretary texted me that I have a sudden meeting with someone?" He said.

"Sure." I said.

"No prob." Sabi naman ni Eric.

"Thanks bro, pati rin sayo Ashley." He said and then smiled.

Eh? Are they close with each other? No wonder kung bakit sya ang engineer.

Kaagad ko ng inilabas ang laptop ko ang started typing kung ano ang gusto ni Ark, yes his name is Ark.

Noong sinabi niya na ang restaurant nya ay seafoods ang main dish, I suggested na parang maganda kung ang magiging style nya is pataas and then yari sya sa bricks. Pero ayaw nya. Edi don't. Pero he said na like nya daw yung idea na pataas.

In the end, dalawa lang ang naging idea ko. And that is the location of the restaurant and mag lagay ng parang viewing deck sa resto. Seryoso, ano ako dito taga type? Nakakainis! Puro idea ni Eric ang laman.

"It's nice working with you guys but I really need to go. See you again soon." He said and then left.

Akmang tatayo na din ako ng bigla akong hinawakan ni Eric sa braso at ipinilit iupo ulit.

"What do you think you're doing?!"

"Kakain tayo. Kaya pumili kana. My treat, 'wag kang mag alala." He said then smiled.

Ugh. Sa dala na rin ng sobrang kagutuman, pumili na din ako ng kakainin ko.

"So.. how are you? The last time I saw you napagkamalan mo akong driver ng taxi." Sabi ni Eric habang na iiling.

"Paki mo?" Sabi ko at kinuha ang phone ko.

"Hindi ka talaga nag bago, kahit katiting man lang." He said then chuckled.

"Ikaw din naman, hindi pa din nag bago.. umaasa pa din." Deretsahan kong sabi and I saw him flinched. I know you're flirting with me Eric.

"You think?" He said while grinning.

"Uhuh. You're flirring with me.. right now." I said as I leaned closer to him.

"Let's say that I'm still into you. Do you still.. like me?" He said and met my gaze.

I laughed. "Seriously Eric? I told you, I never liked you." I said at bumalik na sa pwesto ko.

"Hindi nga ba?" He asked me tunog nag hahamon.

"Is it pure fun or meron pang iba?"

"Stop it. I never liked you." I said.

"Liked... Past tense.. means there is a possibility that you will like me this time." He said.

"I don't care kung ajong pumasok dyan sa isip mo at tinatanong mo ako ng mga meaningless questions na yan, pero let me remind you of something.. you are nothing but a colleague to me, you're too far for being my friend and much more farther in being my lover. Now will you please excuse me?" I said and then leaved the restaurant.

"I still like you Sapphire.. whether you like it or not." Pahabol pa niyang sabi bago ako nakalabas ng resto.

Kaagad naman akong sumakay sa BMW ko at pumunta na sa company ko.

It's not that I haye Eric but— how dare him to bring up that issue?

Flashback...

"Oh ano na Sapphire? Truth or Dare?" My kabarka asked me.

"Tsh dare na nga. Alam kong nangangati na kayong ma dare ako."

"Well.. total crush mo naman si Eric ng section A.. why don't you go out with him? Date him and try to be his girlfriend? What do you think guys?"

"I agree with that."

"Seriously? Yes I have a crush on that guy but he's not a boyfriend material. I don't like him to be my boyfriend." I said but they still insisted. So, I flirt with him. Dinala ko sya sa bar, we dated at many restaurants only just to be his girlfriend. Pero habang nag tatagal na re-realize ko na hindi sya ang lalaking gusto ko. I'm losing interest on him.

That's why nung araw na sinabi nya ang relasyon namin sa parents ko.. I broke up with him. I just can't stand him anymore kaya iniwanan ko sya..

Pero hindi dun natapos ang lahat. Sinuyo nya ako sa school and even sa bahay namin. Good thing nga yung napalipat na ako ng school at lumipat kami ng bahay. Pero ilang linggo lang natunton nanaman nya kung saan ako nakatira. Kaya nilabas ko na ulit sya at pinamukha sa kanya na ginamit ko lang sya for fame at dun na sya tumigil na habol habulin ako.

But I guess hindi n'ya parin ako tinigilang mahalin. Tsh, pathetic.

"Mark?" Gulat kong sabi noong makita ko s'ya sa office ko.

"Oh, nandito kana pala." He said at ngumiti.

"Anong ginagawa mo dito?" Kaagad kong tanong.

"Gusto lang kitang kamustahin." He said while grinning.

"Not funny." I said plainly.

"I know. Pero hindi naman 'yan yung ipinunta ko dito." He said.

"Ano ang ipinunta mo dito kung ganon?"

"I want to ask you— a favor." He said and step closer to me.

"Anong klaseng pabor?" Tanong ko pabalik.

Wait.. bakit ko nga ba siya kinakausap ulit? Ah bahala na.

"Make a choice first. Yes or no?" He said.

"Paano ako pipili kung hindi mo pa naman sinasabi ang dahilan? This is bullshit!" I said at binuksan ang pinto ng office ko. "Pwede ka nang umalis." Sabi ko at mukhang natigilan naman s'ya.

"Fine. Go out with me." He said without looking directly in my eyes.

"A-anong sinabi mo?" Natitigilan kong tanong sa kanya.

"I said, go out with me Sapphire.. date me—again.." he said which made me stunned.

D-date him? Once again? I will never do that again.

"No."
