Cars speed by an apartment complex, New Yorkers chat happily as they walk by, and people go about their day, completely unaware of what goes on behind those closed doors. Inside resides a teenage girl with long red hair, freckles, ice-blue eyes, and tan skin. Most of the time, she is covered in bandages which she quickly excuses with clumsiness. What no one knows is, although she is clumsy, that is not where her injuries come from. They come from the very people meant to protect and shelter her. She softly hums to herself as she draws in a sketchbook on her desk. Her eyes widen when she hears a commotion outside her door. She slides her headphones around her neck and presses her ear to the door. When loud voices are heard on the other side, she shrinks back in fear, quickly hiding on the side of her bed hidden away from plain sight when the door is open. Her door slams open and she grips at her shirt, trying to calm her racing heart.

"Infinity, you have three seconds to come here! One!"

Infinity's eyes widen in absolute terror as she listens to her father begin counting. Just as he says three she stands in front of him, barely breathing. He raises his hand and Infinity braces for impact as he swings full force, knocking her back into her bed.

"You wench! If it wasn't for you our lives wouldn't be so miserable! You've turned your mother and I into this!" He yells, causing tears to stream down her face.

"I-I-I s-so-sorry f-f-father." She mutters, looking at her shaking hands.

"What did I say about muttering?! And what did you call me?!" He booms, picking her up by her shirt and throwing her into the wall.

He pushes her shoulder into the wall, gripping onto it painfully tight and digging his nails into her shoulder. She holds in a cry of pain as her lips quiver.

"I-I-I so so-sorry S-S-Sir." She apologizes, just barely above a whisper.

"You better be bitch!" He howls, kicking her in her stomach.

She falls to the ground, clutching her stomach tightly. In one last fit of rage, he throws her books off of her desk before storming out, slamming the door behind him. Infinity flinches at the loud noise but remains limp on the floor crying. It takes a long time before she musters enough strength to crawl towards her bed. She frowns at the lack of medical supplies in the first aid kit under her bed. She slowly begins to bandage her wounds, covering the blood and bruises as she cries. She huffs in frustration, wiping away her tears as she puts the first aid kit away. Just as she sits back on her bed, her mother opens her door, standing there like a zombie. Infinity audibly gulps and watches as her mother drops a first aid kit on the ground and leaves.

For a long time, Infinity has noticed her mother's zombie-like state, like she wasn't mentally there anymore. She couldn't blame her for living with the man she once loved. Although she seems absent, Infinity smiles knowing her subconscious is looking out for her.

Infinity picks up the first aid kit and hides it next to the old one before laying down, using a dirty sheet filled with holes to gain some warmth. After a few hours, she hears banging at the front door. She ignores it, knowing who it is. The Purple Dragons. She's aware they live in their territory and that they come to collect payment every month, but something seems off tonight. Infinity's breath hitches in her throat when she hears footsteps stomping towards her room. She sits up, her hair falling over her shoulders in a disheveled mess as her father slams open the door. He drags her out by her hair into the living room. She knows better than to cry out so she stays silent. She is thrown at the feet of the Purple Dragons.

"Will you accept this as payment?" He grumbles.

Infinity looks up in absolute horror at the men she's only seen once a few years back. Fong looks down at her in surprise before quickly smirking.
