Kageyama follows behind me as I run through all the halls trying to find either boy. After about 10 minutes, I start to get tired and slow into a jog. Then in the distance, I see a familiar ginger, talking to Angel. Why are they talking? Shouldn't he be shooting her?
I don't think too much into it, I'll ask him later. My first priority is to speed up into a sprint again and trap him in a surprise embrace.
Tobio's first instinct was to drag me away from him, but he shakes off the possessive nature due to the circumstance.
"Y/n, are you okay?" He asks with his hands raised.
I hug him tighter, "I'm so sorry about Hatsune. She was my sister too. I'm shouldn't have forgotten. I feel horrible."
He finally lowers his arms to hug me back. "It's fine," he sighs, "it's not your fault. Thank you for being there for her when I couldn't be." He looks to Kageyama and smiles, "you too."
His smile soon disappears, "it was my fault she didn't come back after Christmas."
I take a step back, still holding onto his shoulders, "what?"
"It was my fault she died." He mumbled, bowing his head and avoiding eye contact. "It's my fault she was never able to go to school and meet friends like she had always wanted."
My hands move from his shoulders to cradle his face, "That is not true," I tell him. He tries to protest, but I continue what I was saying before he got the chance to. "It's your fault she lived. Without you, she would have never been able to get to read any of the manga brought her. She would have never been able to wonder around the streets looking at the pretty Christmas lights. You gave her exactly what she wanted: to spend the rest of her life with her brother, no matter how long it lasted. The rest would've been a bonus. If she had stayed alive, you wouldn't of turned your life around trying to become a doctor. She got exactly what she wanted, even though it was just brief. She had a family."
I sigh and let go of him as he tears up and I fan my eyes with my hands to prevent my eyes from watering. "I'll photocopy this the next chance I get." I tell him while showing him the photo of everyone together.
"I'm sorry for not being there for you and everyone else, I shouldn't have left you all." He apologises.
"It's all in the past," I tell him, "you did what was best for you, and no one can fault that."
I look towards Angel, "Now then... what the fuck is this?" I question, referring to the friendly chit chat that was going on before I showed up.He chuckles nervously, "Kanade is actually human, and she's never actually wanted to attack anyone. All she's ever wanted was for us to be obliterated."
"Well that doesn't sound very friendly." I point out.
"Obliterated means reincarnated," Kageyama interrupts, "so, you mean to tell us her goal was to help us?"
Otonashi nods, "We're actually working on getting Yui achieve her purpose at the moment."
"Oh," I say, trying to process all this new information. It's a lot to take in when added to my memories. "do you need us to help with anything?"
"No, but we'll let you know if anything pops up. Just dont let Yuri find out; if she knew, she'd definitely try to stop us."
I nod, "Okay, then all I have to do is find Noda."
