a content warning:

there are mentions of alcohol and descriptions of being slightly tipsy/drunk, so if this triggers you please be warned. however, as is the nature of this book, it is all lighthearted and does not deal with any themes of misuse. it is simply there, like when you eat out in general.

anyway, this will most likely be the last update for the time being.

A/N:
hi guys!!! it's been a while (a year and 5 months, to be exact) since this was last updated. sorry about that lol

no one needs to know abt my life story, however its weird to look back on this and realise how much mine and endie's writing styles have improved and changed since we first started writing this together. i send works i do to my english teacher, and may in the future share them somewhere online.

i (kaz, owner of the account this is posted on, certified rock lover and hawaiian shirt enthusiast) have an AO3 account with currently one fic posted. it's dreamsmp fic and is pure angst with a side of death, so if you dont enjoy that then dont bother. it is however vastly better than this as i proofread and edited multiple times before posting. here is a link:

The Doctor pulled Yaz by her hand into the busy restaurant. Tables littered the floor and they were met by a beaming waiter, waiting to lead them to their table.

"Table for Yaz?" Yaz asked.

"Surname?"

"Khan."

The waiter ran his finger down the list of names and numbers, before stopping a few from the bottom.

"Of course, follow me. You requested a candle, right?"

Yaz nodded, taking the Doctor's hand and following the waiter, sitting at a small table opposite each other. A tall, pink candle stood lit between them, and a small vase with a singular rose was pushed near the edge. It was beautiful, Yaz thought, smiling to herself.

She looked at the Doctor, who was looking at her reflection in the polished silverware that had been provided.

"Doctor?"

The Doctor looked up, dropping the spoon she had held. "Sorry, Yaz! It's just so shiny!" She said, her smile leaking into her words.

Yaz laughed, busying herself with the menu, before feeling a light tap on her foot, followed by a slight kick in her shin. She winced slightly, having not expected the contact.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean—"

"Wine?"

The beaming waiter from earlier was stood over their table, a bottle of white wine rested on a white cloth hung over his arm, and two wine glasses were held between his hand.

"Yes please," The Doctor said, forgetting her apology from moments before, "Yaz, do you want some?"

"Of course," She smiled.

-

The two sat sipping wine over idle conversation, enjoying the food that had been brought to them. Soon, it became evident they needed to leave.

"Please can we have the bill?" Yaz asked, adding on another "please" subconciously.

"You," The Doctor started, her words drawn out slightly from the effect of the wine, "Are so silly. You said please twice!" She giggled to herself.

"I didn't notice. I think we need to go home, Doctor, you seem drunk."

"I'm fiiinee."

Yaz got up, getting the Doctor's hand and pulling her out of her seat. She swayed slightly, leaning on Yaz as they walked out the restaurant. Yaz mouthed "thank you" to the waiter.

-

They wandered down the street towards Yaz's flat, the Doctor's arm wrapped around Yaz's shoulders.

"Did you know, I love you!" The Doctor giggled. "Oh gosh, I shouldn't let you know that. Are you single?"

"I love you too, Doctor. And no, I'm not."

The Doctor pouted. "But.. but.. I wanted to ask you out.." Her head dropped.

"Doctor, we just went on a date, remember?"

"Oh my goodness!" She looked back up, "I'm the reason you're not single?"

"Yes, yes you are."

They walked down the pavement, streetlights illuminating them and giving them a shared silouhette. Yaz smiled. She could get used to this.
