"Are you sure you have everything?" Claudia asked for the third time. If Valentine left anything, she would definitely start freaking out.
"Yes Mum. I checked my trunk like five times. I have everything. Now am I allowed to get on the train. James has already got on and he's gonna make friends and forget about me" Valentine groaned as her mum gave her hug and groaned even more when her father joined in and squeezed both of them.
"You have to write every week. I don't like birds but I will put up with those owls just for you" Max smiled and let them go.
"Ok I'm going to go find James now. I love you both" Valentine quickly manoeuvred her way through the crowds of children and adults.
Valentine crashed into someone and caused him to drop his book on the floor "Oh my! I'm so sorry" She bent down and picked up the book, handing it back.
The young boy took the book back and Valentine saw that he had a small scar on his face. He bent his head down when he saw her looking.
"I'm Valentine Davenport" She held out a hand and he cautiously shook it, he then saw her blue hair and wondered why an 11 year old would have her hair blue.
"Remus Lupin"
"Are you a first year too?" She asked noted that he was a little taller than the rest of the first years but he looked quite nervous, like a first year, so it was hard to tell if he was or not.
"Yeh" He confirmed.
"Well Remus Lupin. I hope we get to be inside the same house then" She smiled at him and was suddenly dragged backwards by her hand. When she turned she realised James was angrily dragging her towards the train.
"We need to find a compartment. If we don't find a good one now then we'll end up stuck with some annoying gits and I don't want to start the year off with some idiot" James said as he walked past a few compartments and analysed if they should sit with them.
"Well considering i'm starting the year with you, i'm starting the year off with an idiot"
"I'm going to pretend that I didn't hear that" James said as he opened one of the doors "Hi can we sit here?" A redheaded girl sat inside along with a boy with shoulder-length black hair.
The redheaded girl nodded as turned towards the window, continuing to ignore her friend in front of her.
Valentine sat quietly, hearing parts of their conversation. She quickly gathered that the redhead was upset with something the boy did.
During their conversation, another boy walked in and sat down in front of James and Valentine. He introduced himself as Sirius Black and they introduced themselves to him. Sirius complimented her blue hair using the words 'wicked' and 'awesome'. The two boys seemed to hit it off as they talked about how excited they both were to go to Hogwarts. That was until they heard the greasy haired boy say something.
