Welcome to The Ironback Mountain railway Museum, a Heritage Line dedicated to preserving steam power. The museum was officially opened in 1983, by Dennis Clinton, a 42 year old Navy veteran who served in some of the toughest wars in history. He was a decorated and very respected soldier. Then, after a bitter soldier attempted to blackmail him in 1967, he finally quit the armed forces. After returning home and partying for a week, in his home thinking of what to do with the paychecks he earned and built up during his time in the forces. Then one day while driving along, he came to a railroad crossing. He stopped and waited impatiently for the train to pass. After some time, the train approached at a painfully slow pace. The train slowly rolled through the crossing, and Mr. Clinton's attention was suddenly captivated by the rolling stock. He saw a group of 3 old locomotives that looked nothing like the diesel switchers pulling them. Dennis had an extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering.

After several weeks of researching in public libraries, numerous visits to industries, and talking with experienced railroad men, he knew what he was gonna do.

He paid many visits to scrapyards, and he often found locomotives being dismantled and smelted down into raw iron and steel. He managed to save a total of 26 engines from 12 Scrapyards around his area. He had them moved into storage until he was ready for them.

One day, he was in the malt shop enjoying a milkshake, when he saw an ad for a luxury train in California.

"Daylight" He said softly.

He decided to fly down to California to see it.
