Playground games were always fun with Dylan in the 4th grade. We had an alliance in foursquare.
Computer's class was always fun with Dylan in the 8th grade. We worked on codes together.
That was all I'd really done with Dylan. We didn't talk much, we were both pretty shy. Maybe that's why we got along so well. He was more antisocial than shy though. I don't think Dylan had many friends. Looking back, I should have been nicer. Sat with him at lunch, or something. But I hadn't. When Dylan transferred schools in the 9th grade, I hadn't noticed. It wasn't until the 12th grade that Dylan returned, and boy, was my senior year a time to remember.
It was my goal to break out of the shell I had lived in all through middle school, at the beginning of high school. I spent all summer buying trendy, expensive clothes, cutting and dying my hair, experimenting with makeup, and practicing everything it took to be popular. There was really no wonder why I had quickly became one of the most popular girls at Avid High. I quickly got my first boyfriend, Jake Lance, who was the most popular guy in the school. He was in the 10th grade while I was in the 9th being a year old. We were Avid's "it" couple. Fancy dinners every friday, flowers every Saturday, quick kisses between classes, I was in love. I was so sad when Jake graduated, but he gave up his dream college, Oregon State, to go to the community college so he could be near me. It was picture perfect. I had perfect grades, too. Maybe it was from all my years study in my bedroom alone. I went to parties almost every weekend. I had all the clothes I could dream of since my mom's promotion. My life was everything I had imagined and more.
Nothing could ever go wrong. Even I was jealous of me.
