Day two. Now the fake smiles are gone and it's back to grind. It was homework and assignments galore. The first day is always great, the next 179 are pure torture.

The bell rang to go to first period. I was kind of scared to go to calculus because of the weird vibes I was getting yesterday but Lydia was practically pulling me up the stairs. She wanted to make a good impression on our attractive teacher, unlike other classes where she could care less. "Slow down, Lyd, you're gonna rip my arm off!" Lydia let go, but continued running. "Catch up slow poke!"

By the time I got to class, I was literally out of breath. I walked in to see that Lydia was the only one in the classroom other than Mr. Russet. She was twirling her hair and giggling while talking to him. What a flirt. The door slammed behind me and I cringed. Both Mr. Russet and Lydia glanced towards the door. Lydia had a grimace plastered on her face. "Ummm, hi?" I squeaked. Mr. Russet avoided my gaze when he said, "Hello Miss, uh?" "Poplar." "Er, right. Miss Poplar. I'm speaking with Miss Theis right now, so if you could take your seat?" Mr. Russet never looked up. Lydia smirked at me and cocked her head. "Alright?" I said maybe a little too sassily. "Drop the bitch trait, Beth," Lydia warned me in a pouty tone. What? What bitch trait? What the hell even was a bitch trait? "Thank you, Miss Theis, that's just what I was thinking, though I like to not use that kind of language in my class." Oh, it all made sense now. She was throwing me, her best friend, under the bus to flirt with the damn calculus teacher. She wasn't afraid to play dirty.  I sighed and plopped in my seat. "Alright," I growled.

The rest of the class was miserable. Mr. Russet avoided mine and Lydia's gazes the rest of the period. Lydia was fuming by the end of the hour. My head was about to pop off. I was fed up with Lydia. I didn't know what Mr. Russet was up to, but so far, I wasn't liking it. Maybe senior year wasn't all it was cracked up to be, it was only first period and I was ready to quit.

Kinda a filler chapter, sorry. How are you enjoying the book? Love you all so much!! Vote and comment! Point out my errors too please! xx
