Luke takes a breath. The night went by quickly. After Spider left the club, Luke changed back to his devil outfit. He did his usual shifts, the poles, the bar, and private rooms. Throughout the day, all he could think about was Spider. His head wandered. The idea of working with Spider was thrilling. To get through some of the customers, Luke replayed it through his head.
The way Spider stared at him put an odd feeling in his chest. Luke could barely resist smiling at Spider's dazed gaze. He finishes changing into his comfortable clothes. He is just about to put his phone away when it rings.
He answers, not recognizing the number but expecting a call.
"Hey, Healer Boy!" The sound of Spider's voice makes him smile immediately.
"Hey, Spider!" He responds cheerfully.
"I popped by the club earlier and didn't see you. Are you home?"
"Oh no, I am still at the club. I was tasked with closing up," Luke leaves the changing room, "I was working the private rooms today, so the only way to have seen me would be tied to a bed."
"Sounds like a good time, maybe later," Spider pauses for a moment, "Do you want to come over?"
"Sure, but is there any reason why?" Luke questions, baffled by Spider's abrupt offer.
"I met someone, and I don't know how to feel. You're the only one I can really talk to."
"I'll be there in ten, dork, don't be pantless."
"Yes, sir."
Luke hangs up and huffs.
"This will either be really fun or hell on earth."
Spider sits on the couch, lost in his thoughts. Little does he realize, Luke has been knocking for a few minutes now.
Luke sighs and grabs a safety pin.
"This man better be dying right now."
Luke picks the lock and enters.
"Spider! Are yo-"
Spider looks up at him from the couch.
"How did you get in?" Spider asks, weirdly not too concerned.
"I picked the lock. You called me to come over then didn't answer. I thought you were dying!"
After not getting a response, Luke walks over and sits by him.
"So what's got you like this?"
"I think one of your coworkers. Angel sound familiar?"
"Yeah, my rival, a flirt and an annoyance."
"Hot as hell too. The man had my new boss around his finger."
"Probably because the guy had his mouth wrapped around something of your boss's," Luke huffs, not very proud of a few of his past actions.
"Fair enough, but damn, do you look that good in your uniform?"
"I prefer not to say," Luke's face gets a bit pink.
"I'm betting you do. You look good right now," Spider mumbles under his breath and looks around, "Hey, have you ever heard of a guy they call Sir? It seems like he is at the club often."
"Well yeah, he owns the place. Only his most trusted employees ever go to the meetings he hosts. He calls them his Money Crew."
"How do you know?" Spider leans in subconsciously.
"I work the drinks at his poker games."
"So I'll get to see you?" Spider questions excitedly.
"No. The bartenders are not allowed to work in the open bar. We have our own place hidden in the club. People like Angel take the orders and bring them to us."
Spider sits on the information for a moment and opens his mouth to speak. Luke interrupts.
"Spider, these are bad people. Are you up for it? Now would be your last chance to back out."
"I'm all in," Spider smirks as he speaks.
Luke hides his excitement poorly, but it's enough to fool his friend.
"Sir, it's gone as planned."
A man sits behind a screen. On the screen are Luke and Spider.
"Oh, mon ange. Look at you now, bringing it straight into my clutches. If only you knew what that thing truly is."
"Would you like me to notify our security unit?"
"Yes. Keep an eye on that thing. Just don't let it see them. If it suspects we are on to it, go to plan two."
"Yes, Sir."
