The alarm woke you up this time, it was time to go back to work. You had a wonderful weekend; it was nice to spend time with someone other than Hye. You crawled out of bed and shuffled to the bathroom to take your morning shower. You quickly got ready and then entered the kitchen to throw together something for lunch. Hye came in as well shortly after you did. "Morning sis, how did you sleep?" You shrugged; you didn't get a full night's sleep. Tae would startle you awake sometimes when he would reach for you, for you to be his pillow. You weren't used to sharing your bed.
You faintly remembered Taehyung getting up early in the morning and sneaking out to leave. He was sweet enough to be quiet so he didn't wake you.
"I slept okay, when did you get in last night?" You asked Hye, he took a sip from the cup of coffee he just made. "Late." You nodded and finished prepping your lunch. You added all the items to your lunch box and then told bye to Hye. "See you after work!"
You arrived at work and Mr. Jung let you in as usual. "Morning Mr. Jung!" You said cheerfully and he reciprocated. You took your standard place behind the counter and tried to wake yourself up a little more. You tried to mentally count how many times Taehyung had woken you up with his touches. You remembered a specific time when he had scooted so close to your back that you two were fitting like puzzle pieces. He had his face buried in the nape of your neck, you blushed as you remember the feeling of his hot breath against you.
The store door rang as it always did this time of the day. You saw the same girl that always came in each day. She ran to the non-fiction section as she always did. After an abnormal amount of time, you decided to walk back there and check on here.
She was sitting on the floor, books sprawled out everywhere. She was frightened when you approached her. "Sorry for the mess! There's so many new books I can't decide on what to buy!" She was frantically looking around at all the books she had picked out. You chuckled, "Yes, I noticed you were getting low, so I ordered a fresh shipment." The girl smiled, it spread across her face, it was the first time you'd ever seen her smile. She was quite cute. She stood up. "My name is Lena, I never introduced myself." You told her your name and she seemed to really open up to you after that.
"Reading helps me escape from this boring life. In books I can go anywhere and be anyone." Lena's eyes were sparkling. You grinned to yourself. "That's very true Lena." She set some books back onto the shelf and had settled on five books instead of ten. "I'll get the others when I'm done with these."
The two of you walk back to the counter so you can ring her up. Lena seems so happy now. "You're the nicest person that has worked here. No one has ever paid enough attention to the customers like you do." You couldn't help but straighten your posture and smile. Feeling proud of yourself. "Thanks Lena, I try to do my job the best I can. It's $59.14." Lena handed you the money happily. "You have to read since you work here, right?" You nod to her question. "I'll bring you my favorite book tomorrow. It'll give you something to do when it gets slow here." You smile brightly at her; she had really warmed up to you. "That sounds great!"
Lena smiled at you as she left the store. You couldn't help but feel prideful. You made a new friend, and a customer noticed your hard work. Despite the rough night of sleep, today was shaping up to be a really good day.
The rest of the day went smoothly. You were in such a great mood after having a good morning. You happily hummed as you cleaned the store as always. Taehyung had texted you about lunch time.
"I'm just now out of practice. How is your day?"
"Just now? That was 6 hours ago! My day is going great."
"Yeah, practices are intense. I'm glad you're having a good day."
"I made a new friend!"
"It's not a guy, is it?" You scoffed at his last text. Was he worrying over you? Why?
"No. A girl named Lena, she comes in this store every day."
"Aww, well good baby."
You blush at seeing the last word. Taehyung calling you such names really made you feel a certain way. It made you feel special. He wouldn't call just anyone these things. It made your relationship seem a bit more serious.
It was six in the evening now and you helped Mr. Jung close the store down. You counted the drawer and made the nightly deposit. You handed it to Mr. Jung so he could go take it to the bank. "Have a good night," you say to him before leaving the store.
Upon arriving back to your house, you saw that Hye had gotten into the leftover pizza. "There better be enough for me too." You threaten him and Hye laughs. "There is." You grab a few slices and add them to a plate. You eye your brother as you take a bite of your pizza. By this time at night, he would be in his pajamas. But he was dressed quite nicely. "Why are you still dressed?" You finally asked him, curious as to why he wasn't in his normal jammies. "I've got a date." Hye responds.
Your eyebrows shoot up. "A date? Well, well, look at you." You tease him and he laughs awkwardly. "Yeah, you're not the only one out there dating." You finish your first slice and laugh as you watch him nervously pace back and forth. "Okay, I have to go, don't wait up." Hye says to you and winks. You roll your eyes and laugh. "I won't, trust me." Your brother bids you farewell and runs out of the house.
