CHAPTER FORTY - AN ANNOYING GUY

SHIRATORIZAWA HAD CHEERED WHEN THEY had gotten a point. "That block was rather effective." Oikawa commented.

"Did that just decide this match?" Iwaizumi asked.

Tendou glanced over at Sugawara. "Next time..." Sugawara began looking at Tendou. "We'll do that again next time." Tendou only gave him a dark look in reply.

TWEEEET!

The two teams then switched sides. It was Ushijima's turn to serve. The whistle blew as Ushijima threw the ball up in the air and did his jump serve, but it ended up hitting the net, getting a point for Karasuno.

"Sorry." Ushijima apologized.

"Don't mind!" Goshiki reassured.

Shiratorizawa was in the lead with 8 points. "It finally stopped." Kobayashi sighed in relief.

"How many points in a row did they get with Ushiwaka serving there? Five?" Uyeda questioned.

Kobayashi began counting on his fingers. "Six." He corrected.

"More than a third what they need to win." Uyeda commented.

"But Hinata's coming back out now." Nagata pointed out as they saw Nishinoya high five Hinata. "Pull something off again!"

"Narita-san! One more, nice serve!" Hinata encouraged.

"Nice serve!"

The whistle blew as Narita served in which Leon received it. "Sorry!" He apologized as Ushijima went to cover for him.

"Tendou!" He shouted.

Tendou spikes the ball in which Narita barely received it. Tanaka quickly covered for him. "Asahi-san!" He called out, sending the ball over to the ace.

Asahi ran forward as before jumping up, but he ended up getting blocked by Tendou, Shirabu, and Leon. The ball went straight for Hinata's face as he stumbled back but ran forward.

Sugawara tossed the ball over to Tanaka instead, slamming the ball down on the court and getting a point for Karasuno.

"All right!"

"Go, go, Karasuno! Push it, push it, Karasuno!"

Sugawara and Tanaka chest bumped each other. "Hinata, is your eye okay?" Tanaka asked in concern, with Hinata rubbing his cheek.

"Yup!" Hinata responded.

"You sure got hit in a strange place." Sugawara stated.

"My hands couldn't go up in time, so I thought about receiving it with my face, but I didn't want it to hit my nose, so..." Hinata explained.

"What?! So you moved your face because you could actually see it?"

"Well, if I got a nosebleed, I'd have to go back onto the bench." Hinata responded.

Both Tanaka and Sugawara smiled widely. Hinata suddenly felt an intense aura coming from Ushijima as he stepped back. The two of them stared at each other.

TWEEEET!

"Kazuhito, nice serve!"

"All right, keep it up. Don't give up!" Kobayashi stated.
