Y/n's pov:

Have you ever felt out of place in the life you glide through?

My life is no different. Having your future planned out for you from birth wasn't the life I expected to lead.

My mother and father are abnegation leaders. They believe in values which empathise and indulge others self pity.

My father has always wanted a respectable child who is able to carry on his legacy.

Lucky for me my brother has seemly taken that role.

Caleb is the perfect child, he keeps his head down and helps people when needed. His life has longed to lead the city and I have no doubt that he will.

Subsequently, Caleb isn't an only child. My disapproving mannerisms only prove to my family I am not cut out for this faction.

In the city we are each belonged to a faction. 'faction before blood' we like to quote.
There are five factions in our city Dauntless, Erudite , Candor, Amity and Abnegation. Each factions holds different values higher then other.

Dauntless are our cities soldiers. They create order in the districts separating us from the wilderness beyond. They believe in bravery and strength, no dauntless should back down due to cowardly impulses.

Erudite are the knowledge seekers. Intelligence and logic are required to be Erudite this enables the faction to have highly regarded people like doctors and scientists under there wing.

Candor are the truthful. They refuse to take pity and will always look for a clear and honest answer even if it does me offending others along the way.

Amity are the kind and gentil. They farm are lands, living in peace on the outskirts of the City walls.

And that leaves Abnegation, the 'stiffs'
We are profound to follow tight instructions as we are not supposed to be self indulgent. Abnegation help the factionless helping with charitable acts.

Abnegation also runs the city. Many leaders are Abnegation because of our compassion for others rather than ourselves.

Yet I don't see myself in that way. Simple acts like helping mother take in the laundry or helping an old woman cross the street doesn't come naturally to me like it does to my brother.

Recently I've began to realise that I don't belong to this faction no matter how hard I try my selfishness is to consuming to allow me to aquire selfless acts.

At least I will be able to put my mind at ease tommorow morning. When my thoughts can be proven true. Maybe my test results will show what I want to hear.
