Jungkook looked up and saw Jimin standing in front of him.
"What are you doing here?" Jungkook asked.
"Shouldn't I be asking you that question? I'm a pediatrician and this is an on-call room on the peds floor of this hospital." Jimin said.
"Sorry, I'll leave." Jungkook said.
"No, wait. Sit down, Kook." Jimin said, offering Jungkook a chair to sit down on. Jungkook didn't hesitate and took a seat.
"What happened?" Jimin asked.
"It's been four years, Jimin. Are we even still friends? You expect us to pick up where we left off?" Jungkook said in a rude tone.
"I don't know about you Kook, but to me you were more than a friend. You were my brother. I tried reaching out to you, but you shut me out. You shut everyone out. So don't get all snarky on me right now. I don't deserve this." Jimin said.
"I'm sorry. It's been a tough day." Jungkook said.
"I finally met your daughter. Such a character that one. She reminds me of you."
"I almost lost her today, Jimin. You don't have to tell me, but I know you think that I'm a bad father. Maybe I am. But, I love her."
"Then, why aren't you spending time with her, Kook? Why aren't you watching out for her? Why hasn't she gotten the treatment that she needed years ago? I'm not judging you, okay? I just want to understand why."
"You don't know anything, Jimin. I'd do everything to save her. I can't afford to lose her. I'd die if I do. It's just so hard at times. When I look at her, it hurts me so much.
Everyone I ever loved left me, Jimin. My parents died. Tae left me and now, Aria. I don't think I can take another loss." Jungkook said as he began crying again.
"You didn't really give Taehyung the option to stay, Kook. You cheated on him, with his own sister. How can you possibly expect him to stay after that?" Jimin said.
"I didn't cheat on him, Jimin. I had no choice." Jungkook mumbled, but Jimin heard it clearly.
"What do you mean?" Jimin asked; quite surprised with what he just found out.
"Forget what I said. It doesn't even matter anymore. We can't undo the past right? What's done is done." Jungkook said as he sighed and stood up.
"Hey, you can't just say something like that and not tell me the whole story." Jimin said, annoyed and frustrated at Jungkook.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that. Thanks for talking to me, Jimin. I really missed you, bud." Jungkook said before walking out of the on-call room.
"Kook!" Before Jimin could even probe, Jungkook left.

Jungkook decided to grab some dinner first before going back to Aria's room. He assumed that by the time he returns, Taehyung would be gone. But, it was wrong of him to assume. He walks inside the room and stopped on his tracks when he saw Taehyung sleeping beside Aria.
The scene in front of him made his heart melt; made him wonder very briefly whether this could happen more often. But, he immediately dismissed the thought as he knew it would be impossible.
Jungkook walked to Aria's side and gave his daughter a kiss on her forehead. Aria woke up and was about to shout "Dada", but Jungkook stopped her by touching her lips.
"Be quiet, bun. We don't want to wake up your uncle Taehyung." Jungkook whispered softly.
Aria whispered back. "I'm gwad that youw hewe dada."
"Me too, bun. Go back to sleep. I'll be here when you wake up."
"Otay, Dada." Aria closed her eyes and fell asleep almost instantly.
Jungkook looked at Taehyung and he was itching to remove the latter's glasses — a bad habit that Tarhyung didn't outgrow apparrently.

Jungkook remembered the time when Taehyung's frame broke because he suddenly turned sideways while sleeping. That's why eversince then, Jungkook would be the one to remove the glasses everytime Taehyung ends up sleeping with it.
Jungkook just sighs, unbuttoned his cuffs and went to the couch to lie down. He's been trying to sleep, but his thoughts were still on the glasses. He knew he wouldn't be able to sleep unless he does something about it. So he stands up and went to Taehyung's side.
He gently held the frame and slowly removed it from Taehyung's face then placed it on the hospital bedside table. He stared at Taehyung's features for a few minutes and moved some hair strands away from the younger's forehead. Once done, he slowly stepped away from the bed and walked back to the couch to sleep.
When he was back at the couch, Taehyung slowly opened his eyes and touched his forehead. He breathed out as if he was keeping his breath the entire time out of nervousness. He bit his lip and contemplated whether to leave the room or just stay. However, he was afraid that Jungkook might still be awake and would talk to him. So he just decided to lay still until sleep overcame him again.
Jin, who was sleeping on the chair near the bed woke up when Jungkook arrived, but stayed still as he was too exhausted to talk to Jungkook. Hence, he saw everything that happened and just shook his head and sighed.
I hope these two realize that they still care for each other. He thought to himself before he dozes off too.
