6| Misunderstandings

The next day, Taehyung had to wake up early as he had to prep for baby Yumin's operation.  Since Namjoon left his suitcase at Aera's room the night before, Taehyung just decided to shower there instead of going to the attending's shower room which was located at the other side of the hospital.

Taehyung looked over at Jin, Aera and Jungkook and found the three still sound asleep. After all, it was just 5 in the mornning. He quietly opened his suitcase and grabbed everything that he needed, including his change of clothes. He went to the bathroom and showered. After 15 minutes, he was done and was slipping into his fresh set of clothes. 

Taehyung had a ritual before getting into a major operation, one of which is wearing Jungkook's favorite gray Trunkproject shirt. It already looks overworn but he doesn't mind. It became routinary for him that he totally forgot that it was Jungkook's shirt.

He came out of the bathroom towel drying his hair that he didn't see Jungkook walking towards the bathroom. Jungkook, on the other hand, just woke up and was still lightheaded and dazed that he didn't notice Taehyung coming out of the bathroom. The two collided and Taehyung lost his balance as he bumped into Jungkook's rock-hard chest.  Before he could even hit the ground, Jungkook was quick enough to hold his waist and pull him back up. They ended up with their bodies and faces dangerously close to each other, and staring into each other's eyes. They stayed still that way and neither of them moved. Their breathing was becoming erratic and they found themselves looking at each other's lips.

Suddenly, their moment was interrupted by Aria's giggles which snapped them back to reality, abruptly pulling away from each other.

"I'm sorry." Both said simultaneously.

"You have surgery today?" Jungkook asked, trying to start a conversation to relieve the tension in the air.

"Yeah. How did you know?" Taehyung asked.

"You're wearing my shirt." Jungkook smiled a bit.

"Oh, yeah. It still works like a charm." Taehyung bit his lower lip and Jungkook noticed.

"Whay are you nervous about?" Jungkook asked.

You. Taehyung wanted to say out loud.

"The surgery. It's a major one." 

"Oh. Goodluck then."

"Thank you."

"Dada, Eomma!" Aria yelled. She was pouting as she felt that she'snbeing ignored by the two.

Taehyung felt his cheeks getting hot, so he turned around so that Jungkook won't see that he was blushing. He resumed towel drying his hair to further cover his face.

"Aria, who are you calling eomma?" Jungkook asked, hoping to find out if Taehyung agreed to be called her eomma.

"Doctow Uncwe. He said it's otay fow me to call him eomma." Aria happily said.

Jungkook looed at Taehyung with a blank expressions.  Taehyung couldn't decipher if he was pleased or not, so he just assumed that it was the latter.

"Sorry. It's just for the time being while I'm here in Korea. I'm sure she'll eventually forget about me when I'm gone." Taehyung absentmindedly said, not knowing that it struck a nerve for Jungkook.

"Of course, that's what you do anyway, take people for granted." Jungkook spatted, not even giving Taehyung a chance to respond as he went to the bathroom and closed the door behind him.

Jungkook caught Taehyung off-guard. He was dumbfounded as he didn't quite understand what the older meant by what he said. He wanted to wait for Jungkook to ask what it was all about, but he will be late if he does.  So, he hurriedly got his white coat and stethoscope.
