As the droplets of rain fell and the earthy smell of the after rain invaded my senses I was forced to recall some of the miserable parts of my life, how I went from golden girl or almost golden girl to an inviscible being. Probably wondering what happened but that will all be unveiled at the end, sometimes people say the end is the beginning, I never understood this till certain events unfolded in my life.

I was born into a family of 4 which included me, my father was a business man and my mom was an events planner, I can remember vividly times when I would travel with her to meet her client hearing their description of how they wanted their special day to be. Humans are quite confused being I learnt that while following my mom around, we all want something we don't need sometimes. My mom was petite in figure with an olive skin complexion that I always envied my sister inheriting, those forest green eyes that looked down upon me when whenever I did something bad according to her. I had quite a sharp mouth and I tend to say the very thing that's on my mind without any filters and that caused me a whole lot of trouble.

Now I lived with a friend in the downside of Brooklyn, Brownsville, where the roughest and not nicest set of people usually lived but that didn't bother me regarding what I've become. I work in at a bakery just five blocks away and the pay is not what foots my bill it is a cover for what I actually do and no I am not an assassin or involved in illegal drug peddling, what I do is far grave.

"Jane!!!!" my roommate Melissa call out, "I've got the best news ever" unable to hide my curiosity I ask "what is it?" with a large grin on my face, "I heard that there is a competition for a brand ambassador position in IMV and guess what? winner gets the position" melissa says getting an eye roll from me "obviously" i say she continues with prizes "and a sum of 3 million dollars at the end of each year until contract is over, isn't this wonderful just what I needed if I win I wouldn't have to clean and bow to that arrogant fool I call boss and secondly I wouldn't have to kneel to apologize for mistakes I didn't make".

I could see her mind was made up to win this competition," so why haven't you signed up and what are you still doing here", "the thing is that I need someone to sign up with me just so I know I'm not alone in this and that's where you come in" she gives a pleading face.

What If I win and take all the money I ask jokingly but instead of the reply I expected she simply smiled and said "at least I would know who to meet for help when the need arises ", "so I going to be forever be indebted to you huh" I as with a sly smile. Shaking her head and laughing lightly she goes towards to the kitchen

"hey no food' I heard next "nope no groceries was about to head out before the rain started to pour" but you can take the Cheetos in my drawer and wait till I'm back I'm leaving now" "jeez you should have called me I'm starving any way pleeeaassee be fast I could die literally" the last four words echoing in my mind brought faint memories I would love to forever keep buried, "Jane! Jane!! Jane!!! " snapping back to reality I twist the knob of the door leading outside to leave, "Are you alright, what happened I kept calling you, did you hear me?" "yeah I did, something caught my eyes that all, I'm leaving now bye".

Pushing down the memories I walked off towards the mart closeby but it seemed as though the lie I made was materializing physically now something really caught my eye it was the information on the digital billboard across the street, "AUDITIONS FOR IMV AMBASSORDSHIP HOLD 23RD March HOSTED BY CLARIA EVENTS" there was no way I would be going for the auditions with Melissa anymore unless I wanted to meet my mom.
