Getting home, I could hear the shower from the bathroom which meant Melissa was in there, placing the groceries in the fridge and kitchen cabinet I selected necessary food items for dinner and proceeded to preparing it. "Mhmm that smells nice I can't wait to eat, but you should have called me to prepare dinner it's my turn after all" Melissa and I made a roster for cooking as well cleaning the apartment it was to ensure that none of us did the most. "I don't mind besides you were in the shower when I returned", "Thanks let me take over you can go freshen up". I needed to think of a lie that had some truth in it if I wanted to convince Melissa to go for the auditions alone, she would question my refusal especially when I agreed few minutes ago.

We ate in silence I guess that's because Melissa was glued to her phone most of time "the auditions is on the 23rd that's three days from now" she finally spoke probably seeing a post on her feed on Instagram. Pretending I wasn't listening and rather interested in the food I didn't reply " did you hear me I said we have three days to prepare for the auditions", replying "oh the IMV ambassadorial auditions that's too close I'm afraid I would have to bail on you" acting like the timing affected me, putting on her worried face she said "you are not going to bail on me no way it's not like you had to prepare before you're basically escorting me but taking part ish", "come on this one time" She pleaded taking my pause as a yes she picked up her plate from the table saying "thank you , thank you, you won't regret it". I returned to eating with a torn mind wondering on what the worst thing that could happen if I did end up going.

Deciding there is no big deal with me going it wasn't like my mother would recognize me anyways, considering the years we spent away from each other, I couldn't help but go down the memory lane once again today. I remember when I used to be normal, blending in your typical average girl next door but now I don't really know what to make of myself, I used to be free I thought able to share my own opinion and thoughts on any topic not relenting till my tiny voice was heard but I know better now that somethings are better left alone.

Three days couldn't have gone any faster it was time to go and face some of my demons. Coming out from the bedroom Mel was dressed in a two-piece print suit accessorized with a black hat she thought it was best to stand out and what way other than to capture people's eyes with a bold fashion. "How do I look?" without giving me a second to reply she asked "is this bold enough" without seeming too apathetic I replied "I think it would capture my eyes but I don't think it's the way you have it pictured in your head" "how so?" I replied "you definitely stand out with the suit considering 50 percent of ladies applying wouldn't be dressed I this manner but about the masculine touch you wanted I doubt it has the effect, cause this is normal fashion in any other situation" instead of getting the poor spirit expression I expected she smiled widely saying " leave that to me, don't you know one's aura is what deliver he intended look", "now let's start going I don't want us to be too late to miss out without trying" I wish that would actually happen I thought.

The venue was nothing short of the opportunity the deal offered, the place screamed glamour, money and class. "Wow I can't think this ambassadorial deal being anything short of being my one of my dream come true" Mel who was stunned spoke. As if the timing couldn't be more perfect an announcer called out saying "It's time to begin applicants please move towards the golden doors the ushers would guide you". Taking the opportunity to leave and not return already cooking up the excuse for abandoning Mel I made my way to the waiting room acting as if to wait for her " Mel good luck I'll be in the waiting room, go get this girl! Offering her some needed encouragement "thanks Jane but shouldn't you join me maybe one of us would get the slot" putting my most irritated face "No thanks I can't handle talking to lots of people you know that good luck babe".

Walking towards my door to freedom before any unwanted situation arises a baritone voice caught my attention, simply wondering if the voice matched the look I turned towards the source and truly it didn't, you see I'm not one to see a handsome face and call it ugly for any reason what so ever even more cause I believe everyone is good looking in their own way but this time around I felt disappointed for the time I wasted sourcing the voice but as if to make amends fate decided to present a more suited look for my time and with the same voice I hear earlier he introduced himself to some group of people "I'm Gael Irvin the holder of most shares of the IMV cooperation" he smiled seeming to share a joke with the last statement if I hadn't noticed the French accent earlier I definitely did now, but one thing surprised me the most the fact he was young, no wonder the female applicant never bothered trying to look too formal oh poor Mel she would have considered this her longest dream come true which is to marry into wealth.
