Light in the Darkness

In 2009,

Hope, Happy, Peter and Bucky had survived the explosion, and just like Sam asked they stayed hidden in the safe room till dawn when Sam's watch had started beeping.
Bucky was the first one out, when he looked around the building had collapsed around them and turned into ash. Nothing had survived that. Bucky had helped the others out from the safe room and one by one they took in their surroundings, hands covering their face from the rising sun.

a deadly virus burned trough our civilization,

pushing human kind to the edge of extinction.

After the whole ordeal Hope looks down to her hand that holds the cure for man kind as Bucky drives toward the safe heaven they heard so much about. She only hoped Sam didn't give his life up for nothing. She would make sure of it. Peter and Happy where in the back looking at the scenery thankful they where alive, but remembering all those they lost.

Sam Willson dedicated his life
to the discovery of a cure and the restoration of humanity.

Bucky stops as they come up to a big gate and wall surrounding the area. Bucky and Hope look at each other and nod as they all get out of the vehicle. As all four of them walk up to the gate a green light blinks before the gates where opened and people gathered around to see the new comers. Soldiers check each of them before nodding in approval to let them in. Hope walks up to a solder and hands him the vial of blood.

"A very brave man found the cure to the infected. This is what was left." She tells him as the man nods back and calls for a higher up.

All four of them where greeted with smiles. As they where greeting others a woman with strawberry blonde hair moves through the crowd before stopping as she looked at Peter who had his back towards her.

"Peter?!" She says loud enough as the boy turns around and his eyes grew big before running towards her to hug her.

"Miss Stark!" He cry's into her shirt as she comforted the boy holding him tight. She looks up at the three adults and landing on Happy as she smiles through her tears.

"Thank You..." she whispers to them, glad to have the boy she sees as a son in her arms again.

On September 9th, 2019,
at approximately 8:49 pm, he discovered that cure.

Bucky looks down to his wrist to see Sam's watch before taking it off and looking at it as he takes a deep breath in.

He turns it around to see something engraved  to the back. "Light up the Darkness and you will always find a way home. With love, (Y/In)"

Bucky smiles as he realizes that this must have been a gift from Sam's wife Y/n. He knew that it was a special thing for Sam and he couldn't have given it to just anyone. He looks up and smiles knowing Sam is reunited with his family.

And at 8:52, he gave his life to defend it.

Hope looks around at seeing all the smiling faces as she thinks about her own family. She knew about her mother and father but didn't know what happened to Scott and his daughter.

"Hope?" A man voice rings out.

"Scott?!" Her eyes widened as she see Scott holding his Daughter in his arms before hugging her too. All three in a warm embrace.

We are his legacy. This is his legend.

"Sargent Barns? Did you know about the vial the woman with you was carrying?" A solider and general walk up to him and ask.

"Yes. Sam Willson was the last known survivor of New York. He stayed at his post after everything and stayed to find a cure. He did, that vial of blood is the blood of an infected that was cured by Sam Willson himself, sir." Bucky explains.

"Is this man alive?" The general asks

"No, he gave his life to save us and the cure. He was my friend. " Bucky shakes his head as he looks down.

"Im sorry about your loss. But thanks to him we are going to have families reunited with their loved ones. All of you helped in making the impossible happen." The general nods as him and the solider leave to hand the vial to scientists and doctors to replicate the cure.

"You did it..." Bucky whispers as his voice was carried through the air. He turned to follow the others before he stoped as he felt a hand on his shoulder for a few minutes. He looked down to see nothing was there and no one was around him. He looked up as he thought he saw Sam smiling at him before walking a few steps away as a woman and little girl wait till Sam grabs hold of both their hands and disappears with them.

"Sam...??" He smiles as a tear falls from his eye. He nods to himself his spirits high as he walks to Peter who was waving it to get Bucky's attention. He smiles as he hears Peter laugh as he pulled him into a side hug before walking inside the building.

Light up the darkness.
