Sang's POV

“it's weird” i said, still staring at the cat who stares back. “why aren't you talking?”

“meow”

“talk, you feline, talk”

“meow meow”

“no. speak. use your tongue, salem”

“meow meow”

i clicked my tongue, “nasty mouser”

its black fur shimmers like a blanket of velvet fireflies. there was a glimmer of mischief from its heterochromatic eyes which greatly displeased me.

my eyes narrowed into a deadly glare, if only i was blessed with the ability to kill anyone with a single stare, but no, i was unfortunate.

“everyone knows how hard the missions are in the supernatural department”

“i agree, and most mission were very impossible.”

“i'm pretty sure in the next few days, we would be tasked to hunt blood-sucking monsters.”

“close-minded group of humans” i tsk-ed.

they don't believe of such a creature exists. i could sense the mockery on his tone of voice, and i couldn't help but smirk.

boy, you are greatly wrong.

those creatures.

those blood-sucking monsters.

those vampires were known to rule the nights. they lived in the shadows and breed in the darkness, they linger under your bed, they were once popular in the 15th century. they spread fear on the hearts of humans, but sadly, they were vanquished.

no matter how powerful a creature can be, they also had weaknesses.

now those creatures of the night became mere myths and fairytales to scare children and the young.

how dreadful.

3rd Person's POV

“meeting adjourned”

kota watched as his brothers instantly stood from where they once seated and left the room while making endless chatters.

he could hear north grunting from the background while silas was talking before they disappear from the door.

kota continued to arranged the folders in chronological order while making sure that no important information were left in the open for any outsider or intruder to see.

“victor, you don't have to wait for me” kota gaze at the pianist who casually seated on the sofa. “you should head first then i'll follow later”

he then turn towards the reddish-brown haired boy who stood next to a huge window not too far away, “you, too, nathan.”

“nah. i'm fine kota. i'll wait” victor said while tracing his fingers through each musical notes that quietly laid inside a box.

nathan, on the other hand, laughed. his eyes gazing through the window, watching whatever is happening from below. “i swear gabriel is about to explode”

kota and victor looked at each other before making their way towards the window where nathan stood. they, too, gaze from the window and spotted three figures from the distance.

two figures were seen running in the fields while carrying a heavy ton of bags while the other figure stood in front of them, supervising them with sharp eagle eyes.

those two figures were obviously the pair of troublemakers, luke and gabriel.

oh poor luke.

oh poor gabriel.

while the other figure was the russian, yevgeny ravenstahl easily pronounce as raven, who was spouting and barking words in russian mix with broken english.

“well, that's what they get for disappearing” victor remarked.

kota shook his head in sympathy but nonetheless cannot do anything to save them from their demise. as the second in command, his perspective was expected to be objective and non-biased. besides, for all the trouble that those two had caused, they atleast deserved it.

he turn towards two of his brothers who stood next to him and said, “let's go”

the three of them walked out of the room, only to spot corey and axel discussing something important at the end of the hallway.

kota then put both of his hands on the shoulder of nathan and victor, leading them to a different direction, “let's go this way.”

before entirely leaving, he turn his head for a last glance and saw that axel was handing corey a key.

a key to what? he had no idea, and no, he doesn't want to find out.

why? because he had faith and strong trust in his brothers.

whatever that key was for, he was sure that it was only for axel and corey to know.

“so, nathan, how's your nose?”

⑉⑉⑉⑉

corey had his eyebrows furrowed as he try to squeeze his eyes shut, but no matter what he did or do, he couldn't sleep. not with all the noises that was going on outside of his room.

he let out a groan before rising from his bed, “what is all that noise?”

he could hear growling from who-knows-where and scratches from the walls. let's not forget the loud screeching and screaming that is a pain in the ear.

the younger twin had no other choice but to get out of bed when he heard a knock from outside his door. it was banging on the wooded door as loud as possible.

“who is it?”

when the sun-kissed blond haired boy open his door, he found himself staring at the abyss of darkness.

the only flicker of light that lights up the entire room was a small light bulb. corey had no idea where he was relocated this time, but one thing for certain, the castle brought him here.

under the ambience of the light, he spotted a figure.

a figure so oddly familiar that he knew he had seen her somewhere. she was on her knees with both of her hands spread apart - bound by thick rust of chains.

her hair which changes its color when reflected by light hung like a curtain that covered her face. she was wearing a dirty-white dress that look-like rags stitch together.

“s...someo..ne is h..here”

her voice was barely audible that corey couldn't even hear her.

...but it doesn't matter.

what matter's most was that the moment she had raised her head, her hair in the middle parted like the red sea, revealing a pair of vivid emerald eyes that took his breath away.
