" Alex, I think you have done enough reading, it is the weekend now, shouldn't you hang out with your friends and family?" said mom, as she flipped the pancake in the air.

"Nah, I'm fine. You know I want to try my best to be the first in class, It sucks being second." I hated thinking like this, It was as if I was jealous of that brat in class. I always tried my best to beat him but he was always getting a perfect score which was quite impossible for me.

I loved my family and didn't want to stress them when it came to university. I wanted to get a scholarship, so of course, I have to become the best.

" Alex but you know we never really know what might happen in the future, I think you should stop worrying hard about things and concentrate on things that make you happy. The world's motto now is, it requires people you know to make you not what is on paper. Do you know they sell fake certificates now?"

" They do?"

"Yes honey, you should concentrate more on your talents and strengths than competing with someone else in your class. The relationship you have with other people can never tarnish, so you should try and be grateful for the people around you and not leave them alone."

" Your mum is right, besides the thing about going to school is to be educated not to compete. I think your talents and goals are what you should concentrate more on. They are far more reliable than the so-called certificate" Dad said as he dropped his newspaper.

" Thanks for the pep talk, I would keep that in mind," I said making my way to the dining table.

After breakfast, I washed the dishes and made my way to my room.

As soon as I got upstairs, I picked my phone from its charging spot and I dialed Stacy's phone.

" Hello, Stacey, It's Alex speaking. I was wondering If you could come to pick me up to go shopping."

"hmm, what is up with the sudden interest in clothes, wait do you have a crush on someone, I bet it is that boy from...."

"It was a yes or no question, I did not need you to blab on the phone"

"Yes, I would come to pick you up."

I quickly got dressed and waited in front of my house.

A purple sports car which seemed to be Stacey's. She was fairly loaded at a young age, well that is because of her parent. People often make wrong assumptions about her and would not hang out with her. Even if they wanted to hang out with her, It was always for her money.

"Hey girl, hop on in. We are going to get you some clothes, shoes, makeup, and jewelry"

"Yeah whatever". I hopped into the car and we zoomed off.
